On the morning of January 8, the conference to review the work in 2024 and deploy tasks in 2025 of the Government and local authorities was held online.

Also attending the conference at the Government Headquarters bridge were: Standing member of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu; Politburo members, Secretariat members, Party Central Committee members, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Vice President, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, Deputy Prime Minister, Heads of Party committees, central agencies, Committees of the National Assembly, Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court, Chief Prosecutor of the Supreme People's Procuracy, Ministers, Heads of ministerial-level agencies, leaders of socio-political organizations, unions, Party Committee of Central Agencies, Party Committee of Central Enterprises.

At the Government bridge, there were also comrades secretaries of provincial and municipal Party Committees, chairmen of People's Committees of centrally-run provinces and cities; leaders of a number of corporations, general companies, the State Bank, and a number of business associations.

Creating new development space in the new era

Emphasizing that Hanoi highly agrees with the Government's reports, Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh said that in 2024, the Party Committee, government and people of the capital will continue to unite, make efforts to implement and achieve some results.

Hanoi continues to institutionalize Resolution No. 15-NQ/TW dated May 5, 2022 of the Politburo on the direction and tasks of developing Hanoi Capital to 2030, with a vision to 2045. With the attention of the Government, the National Assembly, and central ministries and branches, the Law on the Capital (amended) has been passed, along with the Capital Planning and Adjustment of the Capital Master Plan, which is an important legal basis for the development of the Capital, creating a new development space in the new era.

The city has completed 23/24 targets of the 2024 socio-economic development plan; growth reached 6.52% (in 2023 it was 6.27%). GRDP scale reached nearly 59 billion USD, GRDP per capita reached nearly 6,500 USD. Budget revenue reached 509.3 trillion VND (for the first time exceeding 500,000 billion VND), an increase of nearly 23.8% compared to 2023; of which domestic revenue accounted for nearly 94%. FDI capital reached over 2 billion USD. The number of newly established enterprises reached more than 29,000, bringing the total number of enterprises in the area to over 400,000.

Many works and projects of the city have been inaugurated and started to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital. At the same time, the city is focusing resources on investing in the construction of 9 more bridges over the Red River (currently there are 9 bridges); has approved the investment project to build 3 bridges (Hong Ha, Me So, Van Phuc), and is focusing on directing to decide on the investment policy for 3 bridges (Tu Lien bridge, Tran Hung Dao bridge and Ngoc Hoi bridge).

The first locality to establish a Steering Committee on implementing measures to prevent and combat waste

According to Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh, Hanoi is resolutely implementing measures to deal with environmental pollution in a thorough, practical and comprehensive manner; launching the "Bright, green, clean and beautiful capital" movement, with a new approach, mobilizing the participation of the entire political system and all classes of people in the capital.

Along with that, social security work is ensured; the fields of culture, education and health are given attention; the activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital have left many emotions in the hearts of the people and international friends. The quality of education and training continues to be maintained.

Administrative reform and digital transformation associated with Project 06 are identified as breakthroughs. The city has many ways to follow the direction of the Central Steering Committee and has successfully piloted them, creating momentum for effective implementation in the health, education, and justice sectors.

Hanoi is also the first locality in the country to establish a "Steering Committee on implementing measures to prevent and combat waste", making waste prevention and combat a regular and continuous task to remove difficulties and promote social investment resources.

National defense and security work in the city has been strengthened, and foreign affairs activities have been expanded.

2025 is a very important year for Hanoi. Based on the conclusions of the working sessions of the Party and State leaders, Hanoi has concretized them into implementation plans.
