On the morning of April 23, Comrade Le Van Hieu, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, and Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, inspected the results of spring tree planting in Tan Quang and Dong Tam communes and some traffic routes in Ninh Giang district during the period 2015-2024.
Comrade Nguyen Khac Toan, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, also accompanied them.

During a field inspection, Provincial People's Council Chairman Le Van Hieu highly praised the spring tree planting movement in the localities and units of Ninh Giang district. The communes have actively mobilized the community in planting trees along rural roads and in the grounds of public offices. However, tree planting in these localities is mostly spontaneous and not yet planned, thus failing to create the full benefits and value of spring tree planting. Post-planting tree care has not been given sufficient attention, resulting in many ornamental trees in the grounds of public offices and along some roads still developing slowly and not providing adequate shade.

Provincial People's Council Chairman Le Van Hieu requested that in the coming time, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development provide guidance on the process of planting and caring for ornamental and shade trees, ensuring good growth and development. For trees planted along traffic routes, suitable seedlings should be selected to provide shade, and trees should be planted when young to develop strong, healthy root systems, ensuring resistance to falling and safety during the rainy and stormy season.
The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development needs to promptly develop an annual tree planting plan, allocating appropriate funds for planting and caring for trees to localities and units. The plan should identify suitable tree species for localities to choose from, creating focal points in areas and along roads, bringing long-term aesthetic value and environmental protection.

Local authorities are actively mobilizing social resources for tree planting; encouraging people to donate land for road construction, and to plant many trees along roadsides and in public places, cultural centers, and stadiums. Tree planting goes hand in hand with ensuring a clean rural environment, maintaining security and order, and contributing to making each village and residential area a livable place.
From 2015 to March 2024, Hai Duong province planted 11,131,060 trees. All years exceeded the plan, with the lowest year exceeding by 1.8% and the highest by 40.9%. Districts, cities, and towns with outstanding spring tree planting movements and high effectiveness include Chi Linh City, Hai Duong City, Kinh Mon town, and Thanh Ha district. Ninh Giang district planted 496,085 scattered trees during this period, with an average survival rate of nearly 89%. During the Spring Tree Planting Festival of the Year of the Dragon 2024 (from February 19th to March 19th), Ninh Giang district planted 35,067 trees, achieving 70% of the year's tree planting plan. From now until the end of the year, the district strives to complete and exceed the set plan.
