(NLDO) – Trying to find a new approach to attract young audiences, People's Artist Hong Van staged a rather interesting historical comedy.

On the evening of May 10, the play "3D Cung Tam Ke" by Hong Van Drama Theater was released to the audience. Not only is it simply a sequel to the comedy series "3D Boarding House", the play is also an attempt to find an audience by turning the polygamy story of the owner of a wealthy and powerful government office into a story that is both funny and thoughtful.

Humorous, historical and gender issues elements have converged in the script by Dinh Manh Phuc and director People's Artist Hong Van, creating a new experience for viewers.

The play is staged in a time travel motif as a continuation of the previous two parts, "3D Boarding House" and "3D Cafe Mystery".

The play takes the audience into a completely different world – an ancient government, where modern characters are suddenly caught up in a scheming and humorous game of power.

The "time travel" motif is familiar in movies, but bringing it to the stage is a remarkable experiment.

Not only does it bring laughter, it is also a subtle metaphor about alienation, adaptation and the role of each individual in different societies.

The setting in the mansion of Lord Bao Quan with three wives and a single guard opens up opportunities for a series of funny situations.

Characters like Lady Y Lan, Lady Quy, General Bach Hac, Eunuch Bao Bao or Ly Tai – each with their own personality and lifestyle – are colorful pieces of the multi-layered comedy picture.

But behind that humor, "3D Palace Mind Scheme" also shows the collision of gender, emotions and human instincts in a "fantasy" society that is actually very real.

Gay and non-binary elements are not portrayed in a grotesque manner, but are presented through a humorous yet sympathetic lens.

This is the strength of People's Artist Hong Van's staging when she always makes the atmosphere of the play hot, interweaving many humorous and very real situations.

The play is therefore not only an entertainment but also a cultural dialogue about diversity and individual freedom.

This time, Hong Van Drama Stage brings together a cast of talented actors such as: Meritorious Artist Oc Thanh Van, Artist Lam Vi Da, Hoa Hiep, Le Loc, Tuan Dung, Thanh Duy, Bui Cong Danh, Lac Hoang Long,...

The chemistry in acting, combined with the rhythmic staging, makes each scene full of laughter, depth when needed, and captivates the audience.

Although called a comedy, "3D Palace Mind Scheme" does not stop at just laughter. Behind each joke are layers of meaning about love, jealousy, gender roles, and even the desire for recognition.

The play is like a mirror reflecting modern society in a fictional historical setting – where people still struggle to understand themselves and accept the differences of others.
