Two Vietnamese dishes on the Olympic menu, honored as "culinary monuments"

Appearing on the homepage of the Paris 2024 Olympics, pho and traditional spring rolls are two Vietnamese dishes included in the nutritional menu for athletes participating in the biggest sporting event on the planet.

Notably, in the "Soup of the day" section of the Asian booth, pho is served in the athletes' three main meals.

In the introduction, the Paris 2024 Olympic Organizing Committee affectionately called pho a " culinary monument" of Vietnam, made from bone broth and pho noodles, accompanied by many other ingredients.

Besides, there is other information, such as this Vietnamese dish is rich in Carbohydrates (starch, sugar and fiber), providing enough energy for athletes during competition.

Spring rolls are also included in Asian menus, with the introduction of "Vietnamese Culinary". This dish has ingredients including: thin rice paper (made from rice flour), vegetables, vermicelli and sometimes pork, chicken or boiled shrimp...

In terms of nutritional information, spring rolls are described as high in starch and fiber, making them suitable for vegetarians.

The fact that host country France has put pho and spring rolls on the menu of the 2024 Paris Olympics is an opportunity to promote traditional Vietnamese cuisine to many international friends.

This is not the first time Vietnamese dishes have appeared on the menu for athletes at the Olympics. Previously, at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, Vietnamese pho was also served to guests and athletes.

However, the host country has made some small changes, replacing the beef with its own Wagyu beef. Or before that, in 2016, at the Rio de Janeiro Olympics in Brazil, athletes enjoyed stir-fried pho.
