Two victims of the fire in a rented room in Dong Nai province, both male, aged 46 and 15, died at Cho Ray Hospital due to severe and deep burns; five others suffered burns to 80-90% of their bodies.

On the afternoon of June 4, a representative of Cho Ray Hospital said that two people died from burns covering 90% of their bodies. Of these, a 15-year-old patient died this afternoon, and a 46-year-old patient died last night. Another patient still being treated here only suffered 10% skin burns but severe respiratory burns - a dangerous condition.

The remaining four patients, four babies, are being treated at Children's Hospital 1 and Children's Hospital 2.

At noon the same day, a representative of Children's Hospital 1 said that two 13-year-old patients, transferred from a hospital in Ba Ria - Vung Tau the day before, were in critical condition and were not accompanied by relatives. The boy was in shock, had a rapid pulse, and had blood pressure that was difficult to measure. He was diagnosed with third- or fourth-degree gasoline burns covering about 90% of his body. The girl was also in shock, with third- or fourth-degree gasoline burns covering 80% of her body.

Two other children, 13 and 15 years old, being treated at Children's Hospital 2, are also in serious condition.

Doctors actively treated the children, put them on ventilators, anti-shock, antibiotics, bronchial lavage endoscopy, and continued to monitor their health.

On the morning of June 3, residents of Hamlet 2, Phuoc Binh Commune, heard shouts and cries for help from a dormitory for workers and ran to see two rooms on fire. Residents and authorities put out the fire and brought it under control after two hours. Seven victims suffered severe burns and were taken to the hospital. Many belongings in the dormitory were burned.

Long Thanh District Police initially determined that the man in room number 10 may have been jealous and set fire to room number 3 - where his lover lived, then set fire to his own room. This person was among the burn victims.
