Hai Phong: Opening of the "Red Flamboyant" train

(PLVN) - On May 10, Vietnam Railways Corporation in coordination with Hai Phong City solemnly organized the Ceremony to announce Hai Phong Station as a "Tourist Destination" and inaugurate a high-quality train named "Hoa Phuong Do".

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Dao Anh Tuan - General Director of the Railway Transport Joint Stock Company said that since its opening and operation, Hai Phong station has become a bridge connecting many regions of the country, creating conditions and promoting trade and cultural exchanges between regions. Not only promoting exchanges between regions within Vietnam, Hai Phong station is also the starting point of the Hai Phong - Hanoi - Lao Cai - Yunnan railway route passing through many different regions of Vietnam and China, creating favorable conditions for the development of trade and cultural exchanges between the two countries.

This is the first time the railway industry has put into operation a 34-seat VIP carriage, with an Indochinese-style interior. The 56-seat carriage is equipped with new-generation seats that can rotate 180 degrees, so passengers no longer have to worry about sitting in the opposite direction when the train is running. The carriages are all equipped with spacious hand-washing areas, modern and clean toilets. In addition, the train also has standard 64-seat carriages, applying flexible fares to meet the diverse travel needs of passengers.

This is the first time the railway industry has put into operation VIP carriages with Indochinese-style interiors.

The launch of the high-quality train “Hoa Phuong Do” demonstrates the strong determination of the Railway industry in renewing thinking, constantly improving service quality and increasing experience value, thereby making the railway a top choice for the green tourism trend.

The "Red Flamboyant" train is a tourist product bearing the unique mark of the Port City, and will certainly become a new choice for tourists when coming to Hai Phong .

In addition, the event also held a ceremony to announce the decision to recognize Hai Phong Station as a tourist destination in Hai Phong. This is one of the oldest and most historically valuable stations in the railway industry because on October 21, 1946, the train departing from here brought President Ho Chi Minh back to Hanoi after attending the Fontainebleau conference in France. Since then, October 21 has become the Traditional Day of Vietnam Railways.

With ancient French architecture, Hai Phong Station is not only a traffic transit point but also a work with deep historical, cultural and artistic values ​​associated with the formation and development of the Port City.

Speaking at the ceremony, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Tran Thi Hoang Mai said that the event of Hai Phong Station becoming the 12th "Tourist Destination" of the city has recognized the efforts of the leaders, officers and employees of Vietnam Railways Corporation in general and Hai Phong Station in particular in preserving a beautiful architectural work that is a symbol of the city, along with the City Theater and the City Central Post Office; at the same time, affirming the close coordination between the Vietnam Railways industry and the Hai Phong City government in preserving and promoting the values ​​of the relic, gradually building Hai Phong Station not only as a place to pick up and drop off train passengers but also as a cultural and tourist destination, the starting point for the journey to discover the beauty and famous culinary quintessence of the Red Flamboyant City.

To effectively exploit Hai Phong Station Tourist Site, the Director of the Department requested Vietnam Railways Corporation to continue to pay attention to attracting investment in building a synchronous and modern Hai Phong Station infrastructure, innovating and increasing the quality of unique and high-quality tourism products and services associated with the preservation and promotion of cultural and architectural values. Gradually build Hai Phong Station into a favorite destination for domestic and international tourists.

The "Red Flamboyant" train will have 3 ticket price classes:

Special ticket class (34-seat VIP car) has a ticket price of 250,000 VND/ticket for the beginning of the week, and 300,000 VND/ticket for the weekend (Friday, Saturday and Sunday). With this ticket class, the car will serve 3-4 types of drinks for passengers to choose from such as: fruit juice, mineral water, coffee, milk tea...

First class tickets cost 150,000 VND/ticket for early week flights and 180,000 VND/ticket for weekend flights; passengers are served 1 bottle of water.

Economy class tickets cost 105,000 VND/ticket at the beginning of the week and 130,000 VND/ticket at the end of the week.

Especially during the opening week (from May 10 to May 18, 2025), the railway industry will reduce 10% of ticket prices for all trains on the route.
