"North-South Appointment" - Where Memories Never Fade

NDO - The political and artistic program "North-South Promise" is a journey back to history, to the promises that were written with the blood, tears and loyalty of millions of Vietnamese people. The program will recreate those promises through the language of political and artistic discourse, combining historical documents, thematic reports, animations, music and modern performance technology.

That was the information given at a press conference introducing the political and artistic program "North-South Appointment", organized by the Military Radio and Television Center, on the afternoon of April 10, in Hanoi .

The political and artistic program "North-South Promise" is a national commemorative program. The program is chaired by the Central Propaganda and Education Commission, in coordination with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, and Hanoi City, directing the Army Radio and Television Center to implement, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).

Speaking at the meeting, Colonel Pham Van Tu, Director of the Military Radio and Television Center, emphasized that "North-South Promise" is a place where memories cannot fade, where promises will forever echo. That is the promise of unity of the whole nation; the promise with the rear; the promise at the frontline and the international promise...

The program is a journey back to history, to the promises that were written with the blood, tears and loyalty of millions of Vietnamese people. The program will recreate those promises through the language of political and artistic discourse, combining historical documents, thematic reports, animation, music and modern performance technology.

One of the emotional highlights of the program was the journey back to the roots of 120 veterans - soldiers from the past returning to the old battlefield, named the journey "North-South Promise", gathering from Hanoi, the veterans went to the Central Highlands and from here, the heroes visited the old battlefields in Binh Phuoc, Tay Ninh and Ho Chi Minh City.

The journey to reminisce, to visit fallen comrades who remained on the old battlefield, to meet the people who once sheltered and cared for him in the flames of war. The journey was recorded into stories and retold through emotional films, broadcast in the political and artistic program "North-South Promise".

Colonel Pham Van Tu, Director of the Military Radio and Television Center, spoke at the meeting.

Colonel Pham Van Tu said that with elaborate investment, the "North-South Appointment" program brings a large-scale, grandiose live stage, up to 2,700m2 , divided into two alternating blocks representing the north and south regions, with the Hien Luong bridge in the middle spanning the Ben Hai River.

The stage floor reaches a height of 5m. The highest point of the stage reaches 19m. To install the stage, 17,000 layers were used. This is one of the largest political stages ever.

One of the unique highlights of the program is the 3D mapping projection technology projected onto the water screen, which has never appeared in any program before. Although it is an outdoor program, in a large space, the sound in the program will use Soundscape surround sound, image calls, creating a lively feeling.

In addition, combined with laser light, the program recreates beautiful and majestic images such as: historical battles, troops marching across the river, the legendary Truong Son road scene, tanks speeding into the Independence Palace, boats cutting through the waves on the historic Ben Hai river, the joyful scene of the day of national reunification...

The audience will witness images of tanks, rowboats, Zin cars carrying troops, and the image of the gate of peace opening to the future - all creating a vivid picture of the nation's 50-year journey.

People's Artist Tu Long, Director of the Army Cheo Theater shared at the meeting.

In the program, there will be meetings and exchanges between generations, between soldiers of the past and young people of today, contributing to conveying a meaningful message about the responsibility to protect and preserve the peace that our ancestors exchanged with blood and bones.

"North-South Promise" is not only an art program, but also a spiritual heritage, a reminder of the value of peace, independence, and unity. The program will bring sacred, emotional moments and strong inspiration to millions of Vietnamese people.

The program will be held at 8:10 p.m. on April 22, 2025 at My Dinh National Stadium, Hanoi, with the gathering of many artists and actors. The audience will relive the heroic atmosphere of immortal epics, combined with magnificent live art such as: "Song for Uncle Ho", "Night Stars", "Rest assured, Mom", "Bringing Rice to Mother Plowing", "My Road Along the Country"...

The art and political program is also an opportunity to announce a new composition by Musician Pham Hong Bien dedicated to the program, called "North-South Promise" - a lyrical, emotional song.
