"I am proud to be mentioned as having the possibility of leading a world-class team like Brazil. This will soon become clear. But I will also be waiting for Real Madrid until the very last moment," said coach Ancelotti in a press conference before Real Madrid's match against Cadiz.

Coach Ancelotti's contract with Real Madrid will expire at the end of the 2023-2024 season. The 64-year-old Italian strategist has been linked with the role of new coach for the Brazilian national team since the 2022 World Cup, replacing coach Tite (who resigned).
The president of the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF), Ednaldo Rodrigues, once stated: "Coach Ancelotti has accepted the offer to lead the Brazilian national team when his contract with Real Madrid expires on June 30, 2024. Coach Fernando Diniz will be in charge until then, before Coach Ancelotti takes over the team for the 2024 Copa America."
"I still have a contract with Real Madrid, so I won't talk about the possibility of managing another club or national team. I am very happy here and will wait for Real Madrid's (contract extension offer)," said coach Ancelotti.
Coach Ancelotti also spoke about the possibility of Real Madrid choosing a new coach for the 2024-2025 season, should the club decide not to renew his contract.
"Xabi Alonso and Thiago Motta are two young coaches I really admire. Xabi Alonso, in particular, is currently managing Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga (Germany) with an unbeaten record of 11 wins and 1 draw. He had an outstanding playing career and is now an incredibly impressive coach. I think Xabi Alonso has all the qualities to become Real Madrid's coach in the not-too-distant future. He played for big clubs like Liverpool, Real Madrid, and Bayern Munich; he understands the clubs very well and is very popular with the fans," Coach Ancelotti expressed.
Xabi Alonso, chosen by coach Ancelotti, could one day become Real Madrid's coach.
According to Marca : "Coach Ancelotti may choose a new challenge with the Brazilian national team, which desperately needs him to turn around the current crisis (poor performance in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers). Real Madrid has not yet made any move to initiate contract extension negotiations, as president Florentino Perez is still waiting to see how the current season unfolds."
Real Madrid currently sit second in La Liga, while Girona are the league leaders. The Spanish giants have already secured their place in the Champions League round of 16 and are still competing in the Copa del Rey and the Spanish Super Cup.
