Vietnam women's national team's crucial match schedule on December 11th: Must make changes to beat Myanmar.

Coach Mai Duc Chung will have to change the starting lineup of the Vietnamese women's football team to win against Myanmar in the semi-final match at the SEA Games 33, which takes place at 4 PM today, December 11th.

Experienced personnel are needed.

In the last two matches, despite performing quite well, the Vietnamese women's national football team's playing style felt somewhat disjointed. The combination of experienced and young players, while creating excitement and momentum in the approach of the game, wasn't as strong as expected overall. At times, some key players couldn't maintain high intensity throughout the match, requiring frequent rotations. There were also instances where young talents, despite their best efforts, lacked the necessary mental fortitude, forcing coach Mai Duc Chung to make substitutions.

Because of this inconsistency, in the two matches against Malaysia and the Philippines, the Vietnamese national team's coaching staff could only maintain a core group of 6-7 starting players, with the rest having to be adjusted as needed during the game. Of course, coach Mai Duc Chung had different strategies for each opponent to deploy the appropriate players; but the unstable core group prevented the team from playing smoothly and sharply. In particular, the young players expected to shine at the SEA Games 33, after performing quite well in the first match, showed signs of stagnation in the second. This is causing concern for the coaching staff ahead of the crucial match against Myanmar.

Perhaps, alongside established young players like Thanh Nha, Hai Linh, and Tran Thi Duyen, coach Mai Duc Chung will need experienced players for this crucial match. Experienced defenders like Tran Thi Thu, Tran Thi Thu Thao, and especially Huynh Nhu could start. Their presence would help the Vietnamese women's team maintain a tight, calm, and confident game, avoiding being overwhelmed by the pressure created by Myanmar.

We must bounce back strongly.

On the morning of December 10th, the head of the Vietnamese sports delegation, Nguyen Hong Minh, encouraged the entire team: "Forget about the things that didn't go as planned. Just create a strong connection, and the whole team will play explosively and win against Myanmar." This encouragement motivated Coach Mai Duc Chung and his team to perform better than expected.

Coach Mai Duc Chung assessed that the Myanmar women's team would start quickly with many fast players, especially along the central axis with two veteran players, Win Theingi Tun and Khin Maralar Tun. Therefore, the Vietnamese girls need to build a deep defensive system in the midfield. Diem My, who played well in the previous match, may continue to lead the defense; but the role of the central midfield pair, Thai Thi Thao and Ngan Thi Van Su, will determine success or failure. In particular, they must intercept from afar, neutralize quick one-two passes, and counter attacks down the flanks of Myanmar's midfield. If this area is tightly controlled, the attacking trio of Hai Yen, Bich Thuy, and possibly Huynh Nhu will have opportunities to convert chances into goals.

Only by making a strong comeback to defeat Myanmar can the Vietnamese women's football team continue its quest to defend their SEA Games gold medal.
