Coach Vu Hong Viet wants Nam Dinh FC to win the match.

On the afternoon of September 16th, a press conference was held before the match between Nam Dinh FC and Ratchaburi (opening match of Group F in the AFC Champions League 2) at Thien Truong Stadium. In their second appearance in the Asian competition, Nam Dinh FC is determined to secure a full three points, especially considering they are facing the team that finished fourth in the Thai League last season.

Sharing his thoughts on the preparations for the match, coach Vu Hong Viet stated: "Currently, we are ready for the AFC Champions League 2. Regarding our opponent, Ratchaburi, they have a strong squad with many notable foreign players. However, with the home advantage at Thien Truong Stadium, the whole team is confident in aiming for a favorable result in the opening match."

According to Mr. Vu Hong Viet, the new recruits (especially the five newly arrived foreign players) are integrating well. "Depending on each match, we will rotate the squad flexibly. The team's goal is to go deep in the AFC Champions League this year," the head coach of Nam Dinh Club shared.

Last season, Nam Dinh FC advanced from the group stage in second place (behind Bangkok United). In the round of 16, the team from Nam Dinh was eliminated after a 0-7 aggregate defeat against Sanfrecce Hiroshima (Japan). This season, the V-League representative aims to at least reach the round of 16, as they did last season.

In Group F, Nam Dinh FC will compete against Gamba Osaka, Ratchaburi, and Eastern. This is a manageable group for the Nam Dinh team, with only Gamba Osaka being significantly stronger. Nam Dinh FC needs to make good use of their matches against Eastern and Ratchaburi to secure one of the top two positions.

Meanwhile, Nam Dinh's central defender Lucas Alves shared: "I know that Ratchaburi is not an easy opponent. However, when playing at home, Nam Dinh's goal is nothing less than three points."

Of course, the matches in the group stage will be very fast-paced. Therefore, the whole team must cherish every point and not let any slip away from the opponent. Only two teams will advance, and we will try our best to win a ticket to the next round."

The match between Nam Dinh and Ratchaburi will take place at 7:15 PM on September 17th at Thien Truong Stadium. The clash will be broadcast live on K+.
