TPO - 76 businesses with more than 21,000 workers currently operating in Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park will be relocated. Of these, over 6,000 workers are employed by foreign-invested enterprises and over 15,000 by domestic enterprises, with the workers being 30 years old and above.
On September 10th, information from the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Dong Nai province indicated that, following a survey of workers at businesses in Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park regarding the relocation of Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park, approximately 900 workers stated they would not move with their companies to the new workplace when Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park is relocated. The majority of these workers are older individuals with stable family lives in Bien Hoa city.
Previously, the People's Committee of Dong Nai province approved the plan to relocate Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park to transform it into an urban, commercial, and service area along the Dong Nai River.
According to the plan, 76 businesses with more than 21,000 workers currently operating in Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park will be relocated. Of these, over 6,000 workers are employed in foreign-invested enterprises and over 15,000 in domestic enterprises, with the workers being 30 years old and above.
The plan also identifies that workers will face difficulties in commuting and finding accommodation when the factory relocates. Businesses will face difficulties in recruiting and training new workers; they will also have to increase their housing and transportation support costs in order to retain workers.
To support workers and businesses during the relocation of Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park, Dong Nai province has allocated 1,270 billion VND to support workers' livelihoods, train human resources, and stabilize business production.
