Russian firepower stops 5 Ukrainian troop movements in Donetsk

The spokesman for the Eastern Battle Group (Russia) Alexander Gordeyev told TASS that the Group had prevented five attempts to move troops in the southern Donetsk region by Ukrainian forces.

"Bombers, artillery and heavy flamethrower systems launched strikes on positions, temporary assembly areas and manpower concentrations of the 79th Ukrainian Air Assault Forces and the 58th Motorized Infantry Brigades near Novomikhailovka, Konstantinovka, Antonovka, Prechistovka and Urozhaynoye. The Eastern Group also disrupted three attempts of the Ukrainian forces to attack near Novomikhailovka and two counterattacks near Staromayorskoye," spokesman Alexander Gordeyev said.

In addition, the Eastern Battle Group's artillery also repelled mortar units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces near Novodonetskoye and Novodorovka. A Ukrainian mortar unit north of Nikolskoye was also repelled by Russian forces.

“Ukrainian losses amounted to 55 soldiers, three pickup trucks and one Akatsiya self-propelled gun,” Gordeyev added.

In the plantations north of the village, the Russian army is also conducting active offensive operations. The target of the attack is Chasov Yar. At the same time, the fighters of the Sever-V Brigade (Russia) are also actively operating on the flanks to neutralize the activities of the Ukrainian forces.

Russian forces are also increasing pressure on Ivanovskoye as they move along the highway and into rural settlements. Ukrainian media have also reported that Russia has massed a significant force on motorways to continue its offensive.
