Vietnam Fine Arts Association and accompanying units have just organized the event: Contemporary art space named Chu Nhat Quang - Voc Thu.
The event was attended by Ms. Dinh Thi Mai - Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission; Mr. Hoang Thanh Hai - Head of the Propaganda Department of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission; Ms. Nguyen Thi My Linh - Deputy Head of the Press and Publishing Department of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission; Painter Luong Xuan Doan - President of the Vietnam Fine Arts Association; Art critic Mai Thi Ngoc Oanh - Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Fine Arts Association; Historian Duong Trung Quoc - Vice President, General Secretary of the Vietnam Historical Science Association... and a large number of lacquer art lovers.

The event is like the deepest gratitude to those who have greatly contributed to the success of the two exhibitions "Sacred Mark" and "Independence Spring", contributing to bringing the painting "Uncle Ho reading the Declaration of Independence" by artist Chu Nhat Quang to the Guinness World Record as the largest lacquer painting in the world .

Sharing at the event, Artist Luong Xuan Doan - Chairman of the Vietnam Fine Arts Association said, it can be said that only after this Autumn Figure, we can clearly feel that Chu Nhat Quang still has many things to express through each painting. Belonging to the 9X generation, Quang shows courage, confidence and a very unique artistic personality.
Previous generations have their own stories. Quang, in his generation, must speak with a different voice, but not forget the foundation that created today's luggage.
“We can see in Chu Nhat Quang a young artist who knows clearly what he needs to do in the current context of contemporary Vietnamese fine arts,” Painter Luong Xuan Doan shared.
This contemporary art space creates a “chase” between the audience and the artist – the audience must try to understand what Quang displays in Voc Thu. That shows that Vietnamese contemporary art is new and different every day.

A young artist trained in a modern environment, exposed to advanced schools of painting, but choosing to return to Vietnam to pursue traditional lacquer, according to painter Luong Xuan Doan, is something worth noting.
From the exhibition at Thang Long Imperial Citadel, to the exhibition setting a Guinness record with the longest continuous piece of lacquer, Chu Nhat Quang has brought lacquer material into the great stories of contemporary history.
“Approaching the image of President Ho Chi Minh is a difficult challenge. Even our generation faced countless difficulties when composing about Uncle Ho. But Chu Nhat Quang dared to do it and did it thoroughly, which is a very admirable courage,” shared the Chairman of the Vietnam Fine Arts Association.

At the event, artist Luong Xuan Doan informed that due to his contributions to the country's fine arts, the Vietnam Fine Arts Association has decided to specially admit artist Chu Nhat Quang as a member of the Vietnam Fine Arts Association.
Within the framework of the program, an event was held to transfer the rights to use the paintings to the accompanying units. Accordingly, two lacquer paintings by artist Chu Nhat Quang were bought back for 1 billion VND and 100 thousand USD respectively.
Sharing after the two lacquer paintings were sold, artist Chu Nhat Quang said he felt happy and grateful to the two accompanying units that bought the paintings.
"I know they support me not because they will buy my paintings, but only because they want to help me spread lacquer works about the country, the people and Uncle Ho to the public and international friends. I am grateful to them because the value they bring to me is priceless," the artist shared.

Providing more information about the two paintings that were just sold, artist Chu Nhat Quang said that the painting with the price of 1 billion VND is called "Linh", which is about peaceful memories in the sacred space of the temple, people rowing boats at night and Vietnamese dragons appearing to protect, the painting was created by the artist over 8 months.
The painting, valued at 100,000 USD and titled “Tinh Huong”, depicts a Zen master appearing under the magical moonlight, standing on steps formed from elegant lotus leaves. The artist took over 2 years to complete the work.

"Lacquer cannot be rushed. Each layer of paint and each polishing needs time to mature. The body alone took 3 months to complete," the artist said.
Sharing how the money from the sale of this painting will be used, artist Chu Nhat Quang said that he is still working on dedicated art projects. For example, Independence Spring is currently on display at the Ho Chi Minh Museum.
"The money I earn from selling my paintings will be reinvested in my art, including making frames, buying gold, silver and other necessary materials. In addition, I still maintain programs to open drawing classes for autistic children and support students in schools in mountainous areas.
My family is also investing in a project called: Using AI to detect autistic children early in the community. This is a project we have been pursuing for many years, entirely with the desire to contribute to society. Part of this money will also be used to continue implementing the project," said artist Chu Nhat Quang.
