Inauguration of the restoration and renovation project of the historical site where Mrs. Hoang Thi Loan was buried at Ban Mountain, Hue City.

Construction began in late August 2025 and includes items such as: renovating the memorial house, reinforcing the foundation, paving the courtyard with stone; widening the access road; building a new gate to the historical site; improving the landscape, adding trees and stone benches; completing the lighting, water supply, and camera systems, and rearranging the signage…

The project, with a budget of 1.5 billion VND, is being implemented in accordance with Resolution 18/2020/NQ-HĐND on supporting investment in the preservation and restoration of ranked historical relics (outside the Hue Imperial Citadel Complex) until 2030.

According to the Ho Chi Minh Museum in Hue City, after more than three months of construction under unfavorable weather conditions, the project has been completed on schedule. The restoration adheres to the principle of preserving the original architecture of the 1990 memorial house, ensuring harmony with the pine forest west of Mount Ban.

This site is the first burial place of Mrs. Hoang Thi Loan, the mother of President Ho Chi Minh. She was a capable and self-sacrificing woman who followed her husband and children to Hue in 1895. She passed away in early 1901 at the age of 33 and was buried on the slopes of Ban Mountain; in 1922, her remains were exhumed and brought back to her hometown in Nghe An .

Hue City has always been concerned with the preservation and promotion of the spiritual and material heritage values associated with President Ho Chi Minh and his family in Hue. In 1990, a memorial stele was built at the original burial site of Mrs. Hoang Thi Loan; it has since been renovated and restored several times in 2002, 2008, and 2024.

In 2008, the burial site of President Ho Chi Minh's mother was classified as a city-level historical site. Local authorities also regularly organize many activities to offer incense and pay respects at this site throughout the year.

The completion of the restoration and preservation of the historical site of Hoang Thi Loan's burial ground contributes to improving the quality of the memorial space, serving the needs of offering incense, visiting, and educating about traditions; and at the same time creates a basis for proposing to upgrade the site to a national-level historical monument in the future.
