On the evening of October 26th, the Hue City Department of Education and Training issued an urgent notice to all schools in the area, requesting that students be given a day off on October 27th.

The announcement was made at a time when Hue was experiencing prolonged heavy rain, causing river levels to rise, and hydroelectric reservoirs to increase water release downstream, putting many areas at risk of flooding and isolation, posing potential dangers to transportation.
In response to this situation, following the directives of the Hue City People's Committee, the City Department of Education and Training has requested schools and educational institutions to proactively implement measures to protect facilities, while also promptly informing parents and students about school closures and flood response plans.
Earlier, on October 22nd, the entire city of Hue also suspended classes for over 294,000 students to cope with Typhoon Fengshen (Typhoon No. 12) and prolonged heavy rain. Although the initial plan was to suspend classes for two days, October 22nd and 23rd, due to the continued heavy rain, 200 out of a total of 574 schools in the city had to temporarily close on October 24th.

A locality in central Vietnam has given all students a day off from school to avoid Typhoon No. 12.

Hue was already severely flooded before the storm even reached it, and all students were given the day off from school.

Many places in Da Nang have given students time off from school.
