Quang Tri students won second prize and encouragement prize in HIPPO international English Olympiad

Surpassing excellent candidates from many countries around the world , Nguyen Thuan Phong (class 8A) and Vo Nguyen Khanh Chi (class 2A), iSchool Quang Tri International Integration School (iSchool Quang Tri) have just won high prizes at the HIPPO 2024 International English Olympiad. Notably, Thuan Phong is one of two outstanding representatives of Vietnam to win second prize.

The HIPPO International English Olympiad is organized by the Global HIPPO Association with the participation of tens of thousands of candidates aged 6 to 19, from dozens of countries around the world. Candidates are divided into 6 levels according to age. This is the 12th consecutive year that the HIPPO International English Olympiad has been organized and the 5th time that Vietnam has participated in this exam.

Realizing the meaning and importance of the HIPPO International English Olympiad, with the attention, support and encouragement from staff and teachers, many iSchool Quang Tri students have registered to participate.

In their first participation, the students brought home 29 awards in the national qualifying round, including 5 Gold awards, 10 Silver awards, 8 Bronze awards and 6 Encouragement awards. Next, in the national competition, 5 students from the school won awards, including 1 Gold award, 2 Silver awards, 1 Bronze award and 1 Encouragement award.

With the results achieved, Nguyen Thuan Phong and Vo Nguyen Khanh Chi were selected to participate in the international competition held in Malaysia. With determination and effort in each competition, Thuan Phong excelled to become 1 of 2 representatives of Vietnam to win the Second Prize; Khanh Chi won the Encouragement Prize.
