Learning and following Uncle Ho contributes to preventing and repelling moral and lifestyle degradation.

In the book "Resolutely and persistently fighting against corruption and negativity (PCTNTC), contributing to building our Party and State increasingly clean and strong", General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong has analyzed and pointed out the noble qualities of a revolutionary.

The author emphasizes: Our Party always identifies anti-corruption as a fierce struggle between the good and the bad, the old and the new, between revolutionary ethics of diligence, thrift, integrity, impartiality and the enemy of corruption, waste and bureaucracy, which must be carried out regularly, resolutely, persistently and steadfastly, with the aim of building an increasingly clean and strong Party.

Studying many articles in this “handbook” of the General Secretary, I have come to see more clearly the rich and vivid practical lessons of our Party leader. His instructions always demonstrate closeness, determination, comprehensiveness and persuasiveness, contributing significantly to clarifying the new development in the Party’s theoretical thinking on PCTNTC work.

The author asserts: If we only prevent and fight corruption in terms of money and property, it is not enough. What is more dangerous is the degradation of political ideology, morality and lifestyle. This is the root of corruption; without degradation and corruption, how can it lead to corruption?

The practice of our Party's anti-corruption struggle in recent years has shown that a number of cadres and party members in leadership positions and heads of agencies and units have lacked self-cultivation and training in ethics and lifestyle, have been tempted by material interests and power, have fallen into individualism, have degenerated, and have violated Party discipline and State laws.

This group of Party members lacks awareness in carrying out their exemplary responsibilities, does not fulfill their assigned duties and tasks, does not comply with the principles of Party organization and activities, has a bureaucratic style, is distant from the people, is insensitive to the difficulties and grievances of the people... affecting the Party's prestige, reducing the people's trust, reducing the Party's fighting strength and leadership role.

In preventing and combating moral and lifestyle degradation, first of all, each cadre and Party member needs to "self-reflect, self-correct" and set a practical example. Our Party also requires that in the coming years, we must pay special attention to and further promote Party building and rectification in terms of politics, ideology, ethics, organization and cadres, in conjunction with promoting the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics and lifestyle. In particular, we must continue to focus on doing well three issues: Studying and following Uncle Ho and setting an example for cadres and Party members.

In reality, studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle must be linked to the daily work, training and self-cultivation of each cadre and Party member to create practical results. It is necessary to promote the proactive and self-conscious role of cadres and Party members themselves in training and improving political qualities, morality and lifestyle.

Localities and units should implement in depth and integrate the contents of studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle with political tasks, socio-economic development programs, in different social fields, and should maintain regularly in party activities. Studying goes hand in hand with following, cadres and party members need to set an example with specific actions.

Pay attention to inspecting and supervising the correct implementation of party organization and activity principles; promote democracy, conduct self-criticism and criticism regularly in a frank spirit, without "peace is precious", without being considerate, evasive, or afraid of conflict; at the same time, do not take advantage of self-criticism and criticism to cause internal disunity, focus on education and deterrence.

How can we create more and more exemplary cadres, with high positions, who are typical in studying and following Uncle Ho, truly having a spreading influence in society for everyone to follow? Doing so will contribute to preventing and repelling the moral and lifestyle degradation in a part of cadres and party members, to build our Party to be truly clean and strong.
