The 2nd European Traditional Vietnamese Art Festival in the Czech Republic

The festival focuses on transmitting cultural passion to the 2nd and 3rd generation of Vietnamese people in Europe, creating opportunities for the younger generation to approach, learn and interact with the traditional artistic values ​​of their homeland.

The 2nd European Traditional Vietnamese Art Festival will officially take place on August 30 in Prague, promising to become a major cultural festival, contributing to connecting the Vietnamese community in Europe and spreading traditional national art values.

The above information was announced by Mr. Pham Gia Hau - Chairman of the Vietnam Culture and Arts Association in the Czech Republic, at a press conference held last week at the Sapa Trade Center, Prague.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Hau said that this year's Festival will have the participation of many famous artists from Vietnam, including People's Artist Thanh Ngoan, People's Artist Hong Luu, composer-journalist Mai Van Lang, People's Artist Dieu Huong, People's Artist Nguyen An Ninh and People's Artist Viet Huong.

In particular, this Festival focuses on transmitting cultural passion to the second and third generations of the Vietnamese community in Europe, creating opportunities for the younger generation to access, learn and interact with the traditional artistic values ​​of their homeland.

The event will bring together 7 typical folk art forms, including Quan Ho folk songs, Vi Giam, Xoan singing, Cheo singing, Then singing-Tinh lute, Don Ca Tai Tu and Hue royal court music. These are forms that carry strong regional cultural identities, contributing to a comprehensive introduction of traditional Vietnamese art to the international community.

At the press conference, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Thanh - Permanent Member of the Community Affairs Committee, Embassy of Vietnam in the Czech Republic, emphasized: “Preserving and developing traditional culture is an urgent task, requiring the joint efforts of the whole community. The festival is an activity of special significance, contributing to honoring and spreading Vietnamese cultural values ​​to young generations today and tomorrow.”

Also at the press conference, Mr. Hoang Dinh Thang - Chairman of the Union of Vietnamese Associations in Europe, shared: "Preserving and promoting cultural values ​​is not only the responsibility of domestic agencies but also the sacred duty of overseas Vietnamese."

In addition to Vietnamese art performances, the program also plans to organize cultural exchange activities with traditional art forms of the Czech Republic, thereby enhancing mutual understanding and strengthening friendship between the two countries.

This performance is also part of a series of activities to celebrate the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the Czech Republic./.
