Provincial Women's Union: Realizing projects and programs to support women and children

After 9 years of implementing Project 939 "Supporting Women in Entrepreneurship", women's unions at all levels in the province have specified tasks suitable to local and unit conditions, thereby arousing the spirit, potential and creativity of women in entrepreneurship and economic development.

Specifically, the Association has supported the establishment of 35 cooperatives and 49 cooperative groups managed by women; exploited preferential capital of more than VND 57 billion from banks to support more than 4,750 women in borrowing capital to start businesses and start businesses; established and maintained the operation of 5 women's business clubs.

Continuing to implement Project 938 "Propaganda,education , mobilization, and support for women to participate in solving a number of social issues related to women", from 2022 to present, all levels of the association have coordinated with relevant sectors to organize 168 training courses and communication campaigns to improve knowledge and skills to prevent and combat domestic violence and gender-based violence, ensuring safety for women and children for more than 52,500 people; providing legal advice and assistance to 139 women; building, maintaining, and replicating 584 models of mobilizing and supporting women to participate in solving social issues related to women.

Chairwoman of the Provincial Women's Union To Thi Tam evaluated the results of implementing programs and projects.

In the period of 2021 - 2025, the "Godmother" Program was effectively implemented by all levels of the association, creating a strong spread throughout the province, thereby mobilizing connections to sponsor more than 1,000 orphans in the area with a total cost of more than 12 billion VND; coordinating the construction and repair of 10 houses and giving thousands of gifts to orphans in difficult circumstances with a total amount of more than 4 billion VND.

At the conference, delegates discussed and expressed opinions on advantages, difficulties, outstanding results, and typical effective models in implementing programs and projects.

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department Tran Doan Toi hoped that in the coming time, women's unions at all levels would continue to innovate and diversify activities in supporting women to start businesses; do a good job of grasping their aspirations and coordinating to resolve women's concerns related to people's lives, the legitimate rights and interests of women and children; promote campaigns and emulation movements to mobilize women's internal strength, actively contributing to the construction and development of the homeland and the country in the current period.

On this occasion, the Provincial Women's Union awarded certificates of merit to 47 collectives and 60 individuals with outstanding achievements in implementing Project 939, Project 938 and the "Godmother" Program.
