Conference on sharing experiences on electronic medical records

Electronic medical records are one of the strategic goals of the national digital transformation of healthcare. The Ministry of Health aims for all hospitals of grade one and above to implement electronic medical records by 2023; and for all medical examination and treatment facilities to implement electronic medical records between 2024 and 2028. Provincial hospitals have been recognized by the Ministry of Health since 2021 as using electronic medical records to completely replace paper medical records. All medical examination and treatment data is digitized, ensuring consistency, transparency, minimizing errors in the examination and treatment process, and improving the efficiency of hospital management and operation. Over the past period, hospitals have continuously invested in information technology infrastructure to build smart hospitals, improve the quality of medical services, and contribute to the digital transformation of the healthcare sector.

Comrade Nguyen Long Bien, Standing Committee member of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, presented flowers to congratulate the leaders of the Provincial Hospital.

At the conference, representatives from the provincial hospital and several information technology companies presented six topics, sharing experiences and introducing technologies and software for building and implementing electronic medical records.

In his remarks at the conference, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee highly appreciated the overall results of digital transformation, and the implementation of electronic medical records in particular, at the Provincial Hospital in recent times. The implementation of electronic medical records is of paramount importance, not only improving medical services and bringing practical benefits to the people, but also contributing to the province's digital transformation efforts.

Comrade Nguyen Long Bien, Standing Committee member of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, delivered a speech at the conference.

Therefore, the Provincial Hospital needs to identify this as a central, continuous, and resolute task to be implemented persistently. Specifically for this conference, the Provincial Hospital should focus on absorbing the topics, knowledge, and experiences shared by other units; based on that, it should research, analyze, evaluate, and consider applying them appropriately to the practical situation at its own unit. The comrade expressed his hope that the Ministry of Health would continue to pay more attention to and provide further support to the province's health sector in the field of digital transformation, contributing to helping the province achieve its goals of improving people's health.
