Conference to summarize the work of selecting and calling citizens to join the army in 2023 and deploy tasks in 2024

On October 19, the Provincial People's Committee held a conference to review the work of selecting and calling citizens to join the army (CDNN) in 2023 and deploy tasks in 2024. Comrade Tran Quoc Nam, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired the conference. Attending the conference were Comrade Luu Xuan Phuong, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Commander of the Provincial Military Command (CHQS), leaders of a number of provincial departments and branches, and leaders of districts and cities in the province.

In 2023, the Military Service Council (NVQS) at all levels has advised local Party committees and authorities to lead and direct the implementation of the work of selecting and calling up CDNN to participate in the People's Public Security service. The process and method of conducting the work of selecting and calling up CDNN were organized in accordance with regulations from the registration stage, reviewing actual capacity, preliminary selection, health examination to the stage of issuing the call-up order. As a result, the whole province has handed over 1,155 CDNN, reaching 100% of the target, of which 950 citizens joined the army and 205 citizens joined the People's Public Security service.

At the conference, the Provincial Military Command - the Standing Office of the Provincial Military Service Council launched the 2024 military recruitment competition. Accordingly, in 2024, the whole province strives to select and call 1,223 CDNN, reaching 100% of the target (of which 1,000 citizens will join the army and 223 citizens will join the police).

Speaking at the conference, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested departments, branches, sectors and localities to promote the achieved results, at the same time learn from experience, overcome shortcomings and limitations in the selection and calling of CDNN in 2023. The Provincial Military Command presided over and advised the Provincial People's Committee to coordinate with relevant departments, branches and sectors to effectively implement the selection and calling of CDNN. The Provincial Police directed the district-level police to conduct the selection and calling of citizens to perform the People's Public Security service in 2024.

Localities should coordinate with mass media agencies to strengthen regular and extensive propaganda work to raise awareness of the duty to protect the Fatherland among all classes of people, especially young people of military age. Localities should urgently strengthen the Military Service Councils at all levels; review the actual capacity, strictly manage the number of young people who pass the health examination and properly implement the selection and call-up procedures; and properly implement the military rear policy. For cases of intentional non-compliance with the Law on Military Service and the Law on the People's Public Security, it is necessary to promptly and strictly handle them in accordance with regulations to deter and educate.

On this occasion, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee presented the emulation flag of the Provincial People's Committee to the people and officials of Phan Rang - Thap Cham City, leading the emulation movement in the selection and calling of CDNN in 2023 and awarded certificates of merit of the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to 13 collectives, 8 households and 19 individuals with outstanding achievements in the selection and calling of CDNN in 2023.
