At the workshop, the Provincial Center for Disease Control updated information, shared experiences and equipped core staff with professional knowledge in the work of preventing and combating the harmful effects of tobacco - one of the leading causes of premature death and illness in Vietnam.
Accordingly, the plan for tobacco harm prevention and control in 2025 aims to reduce the rate of tobacco use and passive exposure to tobacco smoke to reduce illness and death caused by the use of tobacco products.
Specific goals: 100% of leaders understand the Law on Prevention and Control of Tobacco Harms; 98% of people understand the harmful effects of tobacco; 82% of administrative agencies ban smoking in the workplace; 75% of provincial hospitals build a smoke-free environment...

At the workshop, experts presented key topics such as: current status and trends in tobacco use, especially e-cigarettes; guidelines for implementing the Law on Prevention and Control of Tobacco Harms; communication skills and building a model of "Smoke-free agencies, schools, and medical facilities"; experience in implementing tobacco prevention and control activities in the community.
Delegates also participated in discussions and shared difficulties and obstacles in the implementation process at the local level, and proposed solutions to improve the effectiveness and sustainability of action programs.
