On August 14, Thanh Son District Women's Union organized a contest to propagate the elimination of harmful backward cultural practices, gender prejudice and prevention of domestic violence in 2024.

The Organizing Committee awarded the First Prize to competition cluster No. 3 (Yen Son commune, Tinh Nhue)

The contest was attended by 5 clusters representing 14 communes implementing Project 8 with 35 contestants. The clusters went through 4 rounds including: Greeting, knowledge contest, ethnic costume performance and communication through folk games. In the ethnic costume performance, the clusters performed unique costumes of their ethnic groups such as: Ao Dai, Muong, Dao, Thai ethnic costumes. With the communication contest through folk games, the clusters brought to the contest meaningful messages about eliminating gender stereotypes, helping each other with housework and preventing domestic violence...

Through the contest, we aim to innovate the content and form of propaganda, improve the effectiveness of the dissemination and education of the law, especially the Law on Prevention and Control of Domestic Violence in 2022; change the way of thinking and working to eliminate harmful backward cultural practices, gender stereotypes and prevent and combat domestic violence in localities implementing Project 8. At the same time, it is an opportunity for the contest clusters to exchange, learn and share experiences on effective forms and solutions in gender equality work and solve urgent problems for women and children at the grassroots level... From there, gradually build a safe living environment for women and children.
