More than 14.1 million international visitors to Vietnam in 10 months

According to newly released data from the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism , the total number of international tourists to Vietnam in the first 10 months of 2024 reached more than 14.1 million, an increase of 41.3% over the same period in 2023.

Of which, the number of international tourists to Vietnam in October 2024 reached 1,419,833 arrivals, an increase of 11.4% compared to September 2024, an increase of 27.6% compared to the same period in 2023.

The largest international tourist markets to Vietnam in October 2024 include: South Korea, China, Taiwan, USA, Japan, India, Australia, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia.

Specifically, the number of Korean visitors to Vietnam was 367,022; China was 305,464; Taiwan was 108,861; the US was 58,221; Japan was 55,902; India was 41,391; Australia was 40,600; Cambodia was 40,030; Thailand was 38,795; Malaysia was 35,932.

Markets with increased visitor numbers compared to September 2024 are: Switzerland (up 68%), Sweden (up 66%), France (up 64%), Poland (up 58%), Denmark (up 52%), Canada (up 48%), Thailand (up 44%), UK (up 44%), Germany (up 42%), Cambodia (up 30%), Netherlands (up 27%), Belgium (up 27%), Norway (up 24%), Italy (up 21%), China (up 18%), Korea (up 3%)….

Markets with a decrease in the number of visitors compared to September 2024 are: Japan (down 18%), Malaysia (down 17%), Laos (down 14%), Singapore (down 6%), USA (down 19%), Switzerland (down 18%), Indonesia (down 14%)...

The number of domestic tourists in October 2024 is estimated at about 5.0 million, of which about 3.3 million are staying. The cumulative number of domestic tourists in the first 10 months of 2024 is estimated at about 100.5 million.

Vietnam National Administration of Tourism said that total revenue from tourists in the first 10 months of 2024 is estimated at about 690 trillion VND.
