Steering Committee meeting to review poor and near-poor households in 2025

On the afternoon of December 9, the People's Committee of Than Uyen commune held a meeting of the Steering Committee to review poor and near-poor households in 2025.

Than Uyen commune currently has 6,183 households with 26,506 people. The review of poor and near-poor households in 2025 is being carried out in accordance with the process, ensuring democracy and transparency at the grassroots level. Regarding poor households, at the beginning of 2025, the whole commune had 268 households (4.3%). Through the review, the preliminary number of poor households at the end of the year was 188 households (3%), down 1.3% compared to the beginning of the year. During the year, 120 households escaped poverty, 12 households fell back into poverty and 28 new poor households arose.

At the conference, delegates focused on discussing the review of several cases that had received support from other sources but were still included in the list of those proposed to be classified as near-poor. They also proposed considering adding households that are genuinely in need but have not yet been included in the list of poor households.

Concluding the conference, Comrade Hoang Van Toan - Vice Chairman of the Commune People's Committee requested the villages and residential areas to continue to carefully review, ensure the reality; publicly post the list according to regulations; not to let the situation of missing difficult households or mistakenly assigning ineligible subjects happen. He requested the members of the Steering Committee to coordinate closely, complete the documents, summarize the results and report to the Commune People's Committee within the prescribed time.
