Joining forces to develop sustainable agriculture

In the agricultural production process, linkage and cooperation have become the key to help cooperatives build value chains and improve operational efficiency.

Although it was only established in 2023, the Cao Nguyen Green High-Tech Agricultural Cooperative (Cu M'gar district) has promoted its internal strength, increased the value chain linking production and consumption of agricultural products. Currently, the cooperative has 10 official members and 35 associate members contributing capital, cultivating a total area of over 120 hectares of passion fruit, of which 61 hectares are certified to GlobalGAP standards.

Even more advantageous is that the cooperative members are all business and farm owners, so they have gathered a team of professionals, built an agricultural production chain from cultivation, processing to trade and supplying products to the market.

To build a large-scale, concentrated planting area, members must have a planting area of 3-5 hectares or more; use tissue culture varieties, cultivate in a clean and safe direction, ensuring international standards; the garden must have a surrounding fence, use concrete pillars for planting, have a warehouse for materials and accommodation for workers...

With such requirements, cooperatives can easily apply high technology in production, facilitating the process of management, supervision, purchasing and connecting with factories for preliminary processing, processing and exporting products.

Passion fruit gardens of the Green Highlands High-Tech Agricultural Cooperative (Cu M'gar district) are produced according to GlobalGAP standards.

On average, 1 hectare of passion fruit will yield 30 tons of fresh fruit. For export products, the fruit must be ripe and have a beautiful appearance. The cooperative buys it at 40,000 - 45,000 VND/kg of fresh fruit in the garden, bringing considerable profits to its members. At the same time, the unit also provides passion fruit seedlings and fertilizers to cooperatives and people who cooperate to intercrop in coffee, pepper, and fruit gardens, etc. and buys raw materials for companies that process passion fruit juice at 10,000 - 15,000 VND/kg of passion fruit, helping to increase income on the same area for farmers.

Currently, the Cao Nguyen Green High-Tech Agricultural Cooperative has the growing area codes of France, Australia, China, Canada; GlobalGAP standard certification for 61 hectares of passion fruit; ISO 22000:2018 certification...

Not only focusing on providing passion fruit raw materials to intermediary companies for export, from the beginning of 2025 until now, the direct official export of the cooperative has encountered many advantages. On average, each month, the unit sells about 30 - 40 tons of fresh passion fruit to the international market. In addition to passion fruit, the cooperative also cooperates with cooperatives inside and outside the province to consume other products such as: coffee, durian, chili, pepper... In 2024, the cooperative's revenue reached 48 billion VND and strives to increase revenue to 100 billion VND in 2025.

“The members of the cooperative are all business and farm owners, in which each unit or individual is in charge of a stage such as: standards for growing areas, input materials, preliminary processing, preservation, export... joining forces and complementing each other. From there, there will be enough resources for the cooperative to build a synchronous and systematic production model, creating a brand and a position for local agricultural products in the international market,” said Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh Binh, Director of the Cao Nguyen Green High-Tech Agricultural Cooperative.

Passion fruit products of the Green Highlands High-Tech Agricultural Cooperative (Cu M'gar district) are carefully inspected, selected, and packaged before reaching consumers.

Cuong Thinh Farm Agricultural Service Cooperative (Cu M'gar district) is also collaborating with the Green Highlands High-Tech Agricultural Cooperative to develop 3 growing area codes, trace the origin and complete the processes and procedures for durian production that meets VietGAP standards. In addition, the Cooperative also collaborates with companies and enterprises that provide agricultural materials to provide technical support to members and import-export units in the province to gradually form a sustainable chain of links.

According to the representative of Cuong Thinh Farm Agricultural Service Cooperative, thanks to the consensus of its members and the association with businesses, the Cooperative has gradually oriented production, helping people to grow and consume products conveniently. In order for durian products to meet export standards to the Chinese market, the unit is currently actively learning and applying many solutions in cultivation and production to meet VietGAP standards, linking to ensure output for agricultural products, and improving the operational efficiency of the Cooperative.

It can be seen that the synergy of cooperatives with people, businesses and organizations is creating commodity chains, bringing economic benefits and contributing to building sustainable agriculture, meeting market demand.
