The National Tourism Year - Hue 2025 is a significant national and international-scale cultural, economic , social, and tourism event, combined with the Hue Festival 2025, commemorating the 50th anniversary of the liberation of Thua Thien Hue province and celebrating Hue's elevation to a centrally-governed city.
Activities organized within the framework of the National Tourism Year and Hue Festival 2025 will focus on four main program groups, including: the Spring Festival "Spring in the Ancient Capital", the Summer Festival "The Shining Imperial City", the Autumn Festival "Hue in Autumn", and the Winter Festival "Winter in Hue", with more than 170 national and provincial-level events taking place mainly in Hue and many other provinces and cities nationwide.
Of these, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and central agencies organized 8 national-level activities, while Thua Thien Hue province chaired the organization of 62 activities (including 46 activities under the National Tourism Year program and 16 activities within the framework of Hue Festival 2025).
Provinces and centrally-governed cities organized 102 activities in response to the National Tourism Year - Hue 2025.
With the activities and events organized during the National Tourism Year and Hue Festival 2025, Hue expects to attract approximately 4.8 - 5 million tourists, of which international tourists will account for about 38 - 40% of the total.
The city of Hue also expects that with such a large number of visitors, the tourism industry will achieve revenue of approximately 10,800 - 11,200 billion VND (almost equal to the total budget revenue of Thua Thien Hue province in 2024).
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province, said that with a series of cultural and tourism events scheduled to take place throughout 2025, Hue city expects this to be a boost that will help the city's tourism industry, which has recently become a centrally-governed city, take off.
"In March, the city will have a specific plan outlining policies and programs to stimulate and develop tourism. We hope that the unique festival programs, spanning all four seasons of 2025, will leave a strong impression and attract more tourists and international friends to Hue," Mr. Binh said.
