At the 33rd SEA Games, the Vietnamese men's volleyball team was placed in Group A along with host nation Thailand, Singapore, and Laos. Overall, the group was considered relatively easy for Coach Tran Dinh Tien's team, as Laos and Singapore were not strong teams and were unlikely to compete for a place in the next round.
As expected, Vietnam secured a convincing 3-0 victory against Laos in their opening match on December 13th. In this opening game, the Vietnamese hitters took turns shining, constantly putting their opponents in a difficult position.
The victory in the opening match gave coach Tran Dinh Tien's team their first 3 points and propelled them to the top of the bảng. This boosted the confidence of the Vietnamese men's volleyball team in their quest for the SEA Games 33 gold medal.
At 5:30 PM today (December 14th), the Vietnamese men's volleyball team will face Singapore in their second match of Group A in the men's volleyball tournament at the 33rd SEA Games. Based on their performance against Laos, fans have reason to believe in another victory for Coach Tran Dinh Tien's team.
Meanwhile, Thailand also won 3-1 against Singapore in their opening match. A victory today would give the Vietnamese players confidence going into the final match of Group A against the host team.
The men's volleyball match between Vietnam and Singapore will be broadcast live on VTV, HTV,FPT Play, and apps such as MyTV and VTVgo.
The men's volleyball tournament at the 33rd SEA Games features 7 teams. Group A includes Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, and Singapore. Indonesia, Myanmar, and the Philippines are in Group B. In the group stage, teams play a round-robin format, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the semi-finals.
