The shock of Phạm Quang Huy: 'I wasn't a good shooter…'

At noon on December 14th, Pham Quang Huy was the first to be eliminated in the men's 10m air pistol individual final, an event in which he won a gold medal at the 19th Asian Games.

Despite winning the silver medal in the team event, Pham Quang Huy was eliminated in the individual competition.

At the shooting range in the Huamark Sports Complex, Quang Huy was one of Vietnam's greatest hopes in shooting on December 14th. However, the shooter unexpectedly failed in the men's 10m air pistol individual final. Quang Huy was eliminated first, with only 115.3 points after 12 shots. Shortly after, his teammate Dinh Thanh also had to leave the competition. Thus, Vietnam's shooting team came away empty-handed in this event.

Earlier in the qualifying round, Quang Huy also performed unimpressively. He only scored 575 points after 60 shots, ranking 5th in the qualifying round. Nevertheless, Quang Huy, along with Dinh Thanh and Cong Minh, won the silver medal in the men's 100m air pistol team event for Vietnam.

Quang Huy has not yet shown good form at the SEA Games 33.

Quang Huy's performance in the qualifying round was also not impressive.

Quang Huy shared his thoughts on his defeat: "The other athletes shot very well. I didn't perform very well. I will learn from this experience for the next events. I'm also quite used to pressure. It's part of shooting. Being eliminated early is hard to say. There are always surprises in the finals. Anything can happen. My score is quite low compared to previous finals."

On December 15th, Quang Huy and Trinh Thu Vinh will compete in the 10m mixed air pistol event.
