The news stated: “A container ship named 'MCS Aries' was captured by the Sepah Naval Task Force (Guards) through a helicopter operation.”

The operation took place near the Strait of Hormuz and the ship is now heading towards Iranian territorial waters.

* On the same day, Israeli military spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari warned that Iran will suffer consequences if it escalates violence in the region.

"Iran will face consequences if it chooses to escalate the situation further... We have increased our readiness to defend Israel from further Iranian aggression. We are also ready to respond," Hagari stressed.

The statement was made after Tehran seized a ship in waters between the United Arab Emirates and Iran.

* Also on April 13, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that it had destroyed three rocket launchers of the Hamas Islamic movement in the Gaza Strip and attacked a military complex of the Hezbollah movement in southern Lebanon.

In a statement on the social network Telegram, the IDF stated: "IDF fighter jets attacked and destroyed three launchers containing 20 missiles ready to fire towards central Israel.

The 162nd Division continues to conduct precision strikes against terrorist elements and infrastructure in central Gaza.”

According to the statement, over the past few days, Israeli forces have destroyed a number of Hamas infrastructure facilities, including a weapons storage facility, and eliminated a number of members of the organization, adding that IDF warplanes have struck more than 30 terrorist targets in the Gaza Strip.

In a separate statement, the IDF said it struck a large military complex and a Hezbollah outpost located in Lebanon's Rihan area.
