Karate won the Asian Games gold medal in the women's team kata event.

In the end, the Vietnamese girls excellently won the gold medal with 42.7 points, while their opponents only got 39 points.

In this category, since there are only 4 participating countries: Malaysia, Vietnam, Brunei and Cambodia, the chance for us to reach the final is quite high.

In the semi-finals, the Vietnamese women's kata team easily defeated Cambodia with a score of 40.80.

In the final, the challenge for Luu Thi Thu Uyen and her teammates was much more difficult when they had to face Malaysia.

In this event, Malaysia competed first and performed quite well with 39 points.

The trio of athletes Naccy, Niathalia and Lovelly performed the test perfectly, evenly, beautifully and without any mistakes.

Therefore, the Vietnamese women's kata team encountered many difficulties in the following competition.

However, with careful preparation, the Vietnamese female athletes competed steadily, with many creative moves and more decisive execution.

In the end, the judges gave the Vietnamese kata team 42.7 points, thereby bringing home the gold medal.

This is the third gold medal of the Vietnamese Sports Delegation at the 19th ASIAD. Previously, sepak takraw and shooting won gold medals.

Not long after, athlete Nguyen Thi Ngoan entered the final of the karate kumite event in the women's 61kg weight class.

Despite competing with great effort, the Vietnamese boxer could not cause any surprise for the host athlete of ASIAD 19, Gong Li.

In the end, Nguyen Thi Ngoan lost 0-9 to the Chinese boxer, thereby bringing home the silver medal for Vietnam.

In the men's individual chess event, Lai Ly Huynh defeated Tan Yu Huat (Malaysia) and Nguyen Thanh Bao defeated Cheng Yin Lung (Hong Kong).

Meanwhile, the Vietnamese women's sepak takraw team won the right to enter the final after defeating Korea with a score of 2-0 (21-9, 21-7).

In volleyball, Vietnam women lost 1-3 to Japan in the semi-finals.
