“The Ho Chi Minh City Digital Citizen application will be the single platform for citizens across the city to interact with the services provided by the city government. The application helps shorten geographical distances and reduce travel time… through direct, fast, convenient, and seamless interactions anytime, anywhere,” said Ms. Vo Thi Trung Trinh, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Digital Transformation Center.
The Ho Chi Minh City Digital Citizen application currently has many features that users should pay attention to, such as: Electronic health records, allowing users to view medical examination and treatment information and test results on the application; Student record lookup, where parents or guardians can look up student records in the city… Most notably, the feature allows citizens to submit feedback via the 1022 hotline. Citizens can send feedback and suggestions to the 1022 hotline on daily issues such as electricity, water supply and drainage, telecommunications, transportation, green spaces, public administrative services…
Many residents in Binh Duong and Ba Ria -Vung Tau have downloaded the Ho Chi Minh City Digital Citizen app: “The app provides digital social news, maps, information lookup, and feedback to the government, which is quite good,” said Mr. Tran Loi Chung (Binh Duong ward). Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Loan from Vung Tau ward shared: “When Ba Ria-Vung Tau merged into Ho Chi Minh City, I immediately thought of installing the Ho Chi Minh City Digital Citizen app. The app has a beautiful interface, is easy to use, and I hope it will be a real communication channel between citizens and the new Ho Chi Minh City government to shorten geographical distances, increase interactions, and exploit the values in the digital space.”
The Ho Chi Minh City Digital Citizen application has brought many benefits: elderly people can view medical examination and treatment information, test results, indicators, and warnings about potential illnesses; parents or guardians can look up student records and later access information about exam scores and academic results; students studying at universities, colleges, vocational schools, etc., can submit information to receive discounts when purchasing metro train tickets. These are also benefits that residents of Binh Duong, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, and other provinces should consider.
“After the merger, Ho Chi Minh City will use the Ho Chi Minh City Digital Citizen Application for all residents in the city. We have coordinated with Binh Duong and Ba Ria-Vung Tau to develop a communication plan for the people. Simultaneously, we are integrating services and data from each locality, such as maps and administrative units, with a pilot program of some useful and practical services to gradually expand. In addition, we are implementing solutions to improve the connection of citizen data to ensure the best possible service for people across all 168 wards, communes, and special zones,” Ms. Trung Trinh shared.
