Urgently prepare for Culture, Sports and Tourism Week to celebrate Ok Om Bok Festival in 2025

According to the report of the Organizing Committee, the propaganda and visual agitation work has been completed with hundreds of billboards, banners, flags installed in the centers of Vinh Long, Tra Vinh and Ben Tre. The opening ceremony of the Week is scheduled to take place at 7:30 p.m. on October 30 at Pham Ngu Lao Park, Tra Vinh Ward.

Within the framework of the event, many diverse activities were organized such as: Southern culinary space with 40 booths; Trade promotion fair - rural industrial products and OCOP gathering 300 booths; along with Khmer cultural exhibitions, traditional handicrafts and tourism space "Vinh Long - Land of convergence of three destinations". Exciting sports activities such as Ngo boat racing, motorbike racing, volleyball, football, aerobics and folk games will take place throughout the week.

In particular, the Ok Om Bok Festival night, an important highlight, held on the evening of November 5 at Ao Ba Om Relic Site, will recreate the moon worship ritual, release flower lanterns and perform traditional Khmer art, honoring the national intangible cultural heritage.

In his speech, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Nguyen Quynh Thien requested relevant departments and units to continue to urgently complete the preparation work, ensuring that the activities take place effectively, magnificently and at a national level. The booths need to be prepared to ensure food safety and hygiene, especially the three-region culinary area serving tourists. The propaganda, decoration, market management and reception of delegates are implemented synchronously and thoughtfully.

Strengthen inspection of exhibition areas, start-up booths, especially Khmer booths, where typical products and intangible cultural spaces are introduced. Sports activities, folk games, Ngo boat racing, and pentatonic music performances need to be organized systematically and safely, ensuring a joyful and healthy atmosphere.

The sub-committees closely coordinate with the police, medical, rescue and urban order forces to complete plans to ensure security, traffic safety, parking areas and logistics for the festival.
