Vice Chairman of Lam Hai Giang Provincial People's Committee inspects the preparation work for the groundbreaking of the Inter-level Boarding School Project in 7 border communes

(gialai.gov.vn) – On the morning of October 25, at Ia Nan commune, Vice Chairman of Lam Hai Giang Provincial People's Committee inspected the site and worked with relevant departments, branches and localities on the preparation for the groundbreaking of the Primary and Secondary Boarding School Project in 7 border communes of the province.

The delegation included leaders of the following departments: Education and Training, Finance, Agriculture and Environment, Construction; Provincial Investment Project Management Board; representatives of Army Corps 15; Provincial People's Committee Office and representatives of the leaders of 7 border communes: Ia Mo, Ia Púch, Ia Pnôn, Ia Nan, Ia Chia, Ia Dom, Ia O.

Implementing the policy of the Politburo and the Government on developing education in disadvantaged areas, the Ministry of Education and Training is coordinating with ministries, branches and localities to deploy the pilot project to build 100 primary and secondary boarding schools in 100 border communes across the country. Of which, Gia Lai province is investing in building 7 schools in 7 border communes of the province.

Accordingly, the Project of Boarding Primary and Secondary Schools in 7 border communes of Gia Lai province will be invested and built at the following locations: Klah village, Ia Mo commune; Goong village, Ia Púch commune; Chan village, Ia Pnôn commune; Mook Trang village, Ia Dom commune; Lang village, Ia Chia commune; Dang village, Ia O commune. The scale of education at 7 schools is 212 classrooms, 7,108 students. The total capital for the project is over 1,516 billion VND; of which the central budget is nearly 1,468 billion VND; the provincial budget is nearly 48.4 billion VND.

This is a key project of special significance, contributing to reducing the dropout rate and improving the quality of education in ethnic minority areas. Creating conditions to stabilize and attract a team of teachers to stay long-term in the border area; building a comprehensive, safe and healthy educational environment. Each school will receive synchronous investment in infrastructure and equipment, including classrooms, libraries, multi-purpose halls, student dormitories, teachers' housing, sports areas, playgrounds, internal roads and auxiliary works.

At the meeting, leaders of border communes and leaders of relevant departments, branches and units reported on the preparations for the Project Groundbreaking Ceremony, scheduled to take place on November 2, 2025. Ia Nan commune was chosen to host the Groundbreaking Ceremony. In addition, the localities raised a number of difficulties and problems, proposed contents related to land acquisition, compensation, site clearance and preparations for the Groundbreaking Ceremony.

Concluding the working session, Vice Chairman of Lam Hai Giang Provincial People's Committee acknowledged the efforts of localities, departments and branches in urgently implementing necessary tasks to prepare for the groundbreaking ceremony; although there are still some difficulties that need to be resolved during the implementation process, the progress basically meets the requirements.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized: Building schools for border communes is a major policy decision, with profound political, social and humanitarian significance, demonstrating the special attention of the Party and State to the people, especially students in border areas. When completed, the project will help thousands of students in difficult areas have stable conditions to study and live, contributing to improving the quality of education and creating a driving force for sustainable development in the border areas of Gia Lai province.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the People's Committees of border communes to urgently coordinate with units under the 15th Army Corps to agree on compensation and site clearance plans; complete documents, approve and implement before October 29; at the same time, promptly complete land recovery procedures according to regulations. Along with that, the Department of Education and Training, the Department of Construction, the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board and the consulting unit review the entire master plan of the site, make appropriate adjustments to get opinions from the communes, and promptly complete the detailed planning at a scale of 1/500 before October 29.

Vice Chairman of Lam Hai Giang Provincial People's Committee also requested the Department of Education and Training to coordinate with the Provincial Investment Project Management Board and Ia Nan Commune People's Committee to develop a specific and detailed plan to organize the Groundbreaking Ceremony on November 2, 2025 to ensure thoughtfulness, safety and economy.

During the construction process, departments, branches and localities are required to continue to coordinate closely, promote the implementation of tasks to ensure progress, quality, complete and put the project into use before the set plan. Communes are required to proactively develop plans so that when the project is completed, the team of teachers and students can meet the operational requirements. At the same time, there is a plan to exploit and promote the effectiveness of the project, serving well the cause of educational development in border areas, considering this a model to be replicated in the coming time.
