Inauguration of the relief "Uncle Ho talking with cadres and soldiers of the Vanguard Army" at Hung Temple

Attending the ceremony were General Phan Van Giang, Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Minister of National Defense; General Luong Cuong, Politburo member, Standing member of the Central Military Commission, Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army; leaders of the Ministry of National Defense , Phu Tho province, and many people and tourists attending the ceremony.

Speaking at the ceremony, General Phan Van Giang acknowledged and highly appreciated the sense of responsibility, proactiveness, positivity, enthusiasm and thoughtfulness of Phu Tho province, Military Region 2, Hung Temple historical relic site, members of the art council and relevant agencies and units during the construction process.

In particular, the project was completed and put into use on the occasion of the Hung Kings' Commemoration Day - Hung Temple Festival in 2024 and towards major anniversaries such as the 49th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification; 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory, 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day and the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army.

General Phan Van Giang requested the Party Committee, government and people of Phu Tho province to effectively and practically manage, preserve and promote the Bas-relief, contributing to educating patriotism, national pride and the revolutionary tradition of the Party, the ideology and great example of Uncle Ho, the spirit of great national unity and the glorious tradition of the Vietnam People's Army, the heroic army of the heroic nation.

General Phan Van Giang expressed his belief that with the strengths and potentials, historical, cultural and revolutionary traditions of the homeland, the Party Committee and people will continue to unite, join hands and overcome all difficulties and challenges, build Phu Tho to become more civilized, modern and sustainably developed; preserve and promote the cultural values of the homeland with two representative intangible cultural heritages of humanity; closely combine socio-economic development with ensuring national defense and security, soon making Phu Tho become the leading developed province in the northern midland and mountainous region...

Director of Hung Temple Historical Site Le Truong Giang said that after 9 months of construction, the project items have been completed on schedule, ensuring technical and aesthetic standards, meeting the conditions for handover and putting the project into operation to serve the people and compatriots, domestic tourists and foreign friends who visit Hung Temple every year.

In particular, the project put into use on this occasion has timely served the flower offering activities to express gratitude for the merits and remember the advice of President Ho Chi Minh on the occasion of the Hung Kings' death anniversary - Hung Temple Festival and the Cultural Tourism Week of the Ancestral Land in the year of Giap Thin 2024; at the same time associated with the 70th anniversary of Uncle Ho's visit to Hung Temple.

The relief work "Uncle Ho talking to cadres and soldiers of the Vanguard Army" was invested in restoration and embellishment with 2 main items including: Construction part: The relief is made of reinforced concrete structure with an arc shape with a length of 28.16m, height including the pedestal is 10.99m, reinforced concrete wall 30cm thick is connected with a hanging system made of stainless steel box for installation, connected with the art part of the relief made of copper alloy.

The artistic part of the Bas-relief is basically kept intact based on the author's sculpture. The (old) stone bas-relief was built in 2001, only expanding in scale, the shape is arc-shaped with a length of 28.16m, a height of 9.2m and the casting material is replaced with a copper alloy with an average thickness of 1.5cm; after being cast at the factory, it is assembled and welded directly at the site, connected to the reinforced concrete wall through a stainless steel box frame system.

The project is implemented in compliance with the provisions of Decree No. 113/2013/ND-CP dated October 2, 2013 of the Government and the guidance in Circular No. 18/2013/TTVHTTDL dated December 30, 2013 of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism detailing the implementation of a number of articles in Decree No. 113/2013/ND-CP of the Government on fine arts activities.
