Representatives of the 2025 United Nations Vesak Organizing Committee cut the ribbon to inaugurate the Vesak Press Center on the afternoon of May 2.

Most Venerable Thich Duc Thien, Vice President and General Secretary of the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, said: "The 2025 United Nations Day of Vesak with the theme of Solidarity and Tolerance for Human Dignity: Buddhist Wisdom for World Peace and Sustainable Development will take place from May 6-8, 2025 at the Vietnam Buddhist Academy, Le Minh Xuan Commune, Binh Chanh District, Ho Chi Minh City." This is the fourth time Vietnam has hosted the United Nations Day of Vesak.

Venerable Thich Duc Thien added: "To spread information about the Great Ceremony to a large number of people at home and abroad, the Organizing Committee has organized the inauguration of the Press Center serving the Great Vesak Ceremony. This center was built within 2 days in the spirit of the Great Spring Victory - speed, speed and success. The equipment in the press center is provided and supported by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, the Department of Culture and Sports, the Department of Science and Technology of Ho Chi Minh City, Viettel Group, Mobifone Company ... Therefore, through this center, the Organizing Committee hopes that reporters, press, and editors will work most conveniently to provide the most truthful and beautiful information and images about the Great Ceremony to a large number of readers at home and abroad."

According to the Organizing Committee, the 2025 Vesak Festival is expected to gather about 2,700 delegates, including about 1,200 international delegates from 85 countries and territories, including several heads of state. In addition, there are about 1,500 domestic delegates.

The United Nations Day of Vesak is not only a day to commemorate three important events in the life of Buddha Shakyamuni - Birth, Enlightenment and Nirvana, but also a forum for Buddhist communities around the world to share human values, promote solidarity and contribute together to peace and sustainable development of humanity.
