On the afternoon of September 3, at Hanoi station, train SE67 picked up 659 soldiers returning to Military Region 5 and Army Corps 34 (southern bloc), transporting materials, equipment, and accompanying luggage from Hanoi station to Da Nang station and ending at Dieu Tri station, scheduled at 2:28 p.m. on September 4.
Major General Phung Ngoc Son, Deputy Director and Chief of Staff of the General Department of Logistics and Engineering, Deputy Head of the Parade and Marching Subcommittee A80 of the Ministry of National Defense and Major General Nguyen Que Lam, Director of the Department of Motorcycles and Transportation, came to encourage the parade groups of Military Region 5 and Army Corps 34 before leaving Hanoi to return to their units.
In an exciting atmosphere filled with the red flag with yellow star, the elite student delegation of the capital, the veterans association and many people came to see the soldiers off back to their units.
The echoes of the grand ceremony still linger, along with the joyful cheers, there are hugs, handshakes full of nostalgia, lingering, and wishes for a safe journey. Ms. Nguyen Thanh Thu (Hanoi) shared: “The soldiers had to practice hard under the scorching sun and pouring rain to have such a grand and heroic parade. With the affection of thousands of people, hopefully the past days in Hanoi will become beautiful memories in the lives of the soldiers.”
There were also young people from the South who were present at Hanoi station to say goodbye and thank the soldiers before returning home. Nguyen Vu Thong (HCMC) expressed: “Thank you to all the soldiers for giving me unforgettable memories of my youth. I wish the soldiers good health, to complete their assigned tasks well and to contribute to the country.”
After completing the A80 mission and about to leave the capital, Senior Lieutenant Ta Van Binh of the Air Defense - Air Force, expressed: “I was moved to see many people come to see us off as we returned to our units. During the training period for A80, many people did not mind the sun or rain to visit and encourage us. I thank the people for their affection in the past days and will always remember the North and the capital.”
