Testing, calibration and evaluation of flight procedures at Long Thanh airport

The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has just directed relevant units to conduct inspection flights, calibrate and evaluate flight procedures at Long Thanh airport from September 26 to October 24.

Accordingly, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam will coordinate with the Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation, the Air Traffic Management Engineering Company Limited and the Vietnam Airports Corporation to carry out flight inspection, calibration and evaluation of flight procedures at Long Thanh airport.

The organization and implementation of the calibration flight was undertaken by Flight Management Engineering Company Limited, with the participation of experts from the Czech Republic Air Navigation Academy.

Experts will calibrate two precision landing support systems, navigation systems, airport lighting systems, monitoring systems and related flight methods, ensuring flight operations according to the standards of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

This is a mandatory inspection step, of key significance in the roadmap to put the most modern airport in Vietnam into operation. The flight plan has been licensed by the Operations Department - General Staff.
