The terrifying moment Super Typhoon Bebinca made landfall in Shanghai.
According to Chinese media, Typhoon Bebinca, with wind speeds reaching 151 km/h, made landfall in Shanghai, a city of nearly 25 million people, at around 7:30 a.m. (local time). This was the strongest typhoon to hit Shanghai since Typhoon Gloria in 1949.
Footage circulating online shows the storm bringing strong winds that forced pedestrians to struggle to maintain their balance, uprooted trees, blew out windows of high-rise buildings, and ripped off corrugated iron roofs, damaging passing vehicles and severely disrupting daily life.

From the night of September 15th, hundreds of flights were canceled at the city's two airports, and some rail services at Shanghai train station were suspended. Thousands of residents were also evacuated to temporary shelters for their safety.
As of 12:30 PM on September 16th, according to initial statistics, the storm had injured one person, uprooted or broken more than 10,000 trees, caused 153 power outages, damaged many buildings, and flooded large areas of agricultural land.
