Fintech “Unicorn” joins Au Lac AI Alliance, contributing to creating an AI ecosystem with Vietnamese identity

In the context that the Government has just issued Decision 1131/QD-TTg identifying AI as the top among 11 national strategic technology groups, the formation of public-private partnership alliances to promote the development of indigenous AI is an inevitable step.

On June 20, 2025, the Au Lac AI Alliance officially launched with the participation of more than 20 leading artificial intelligence organizations in Vietnam, including top technology companies and startups such as: Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, MobiFone, VNPT, FPT, CMC , BKAV, MoMo, VNPAY, Zalo, AI For Vietnam, AI Hay, Finhay,... along with academies and universities: Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology, Cryptography Technical Academy, FPT University…

Notably, the participation of Fintech "unicorns" like MoMo contributes to the Alliance's goal of building large language models (LLMs) capable of processing Vietnamese accurately, naturally, and culturally appropriate, thereby contributing to raising the intellectual level of the population and promoting the development of the national digital economy . Currently, MoMo has widely applied AI and natural language processing technology to its core products, serving over 30 million users daily – from personalized experiences, expense management, customer care to credit services.

“We believe that AI needs to be developed to solve specific problems close to the lives of Vietnamese people – from spending and saving to accessing credit. MoMo joins the Au Lac AI Alliance not only as a technology company, but as one of the domestic forces directly bringing AI into daily life, serving tens of millions of people every day,” said Mr. Nguyen Ba Diep, Co-founder of MoMo Financial Technology Group.

Mr. Nguyen Manh Tuong and the MoMo leadership team participate in forums and associations, closely supporting the government's policy-making process.

Joining the Au Lac AI Alliance once again affirms MoMo's long-term and serious commitment to investing in the application of artificial intelligence to address the practical financial and consumer needs of tens of millions of Vietnamese people.

Besides developing a domestic AI ecosystem, MoMo is also actively participating in public-private partnership forums to support the government in the national policy-making process. Most recently, Mr. Nguyen Manh Tuong – Co-founder, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Director of MoMo – was appointed as one of seven entrepreneurs participating in the National Advisory Council on Science , Technology Development, Innovation and Digital Transformation.

This is not the first time MoMo has voiced its contribution to national policy. Previously, Mr. Thai Tri Hung - MoMo's Chief Technology Officer - became a member of the Executive Board of the National Data Association (2025-2030). This demonstrates the recognition by state management agencies of MoMo's technological capabilities and its long-term, systematic commitment.

These events clearly demonstrate the growing influence and role of domestic fintech companies like MoMo in shaping national policy. Simultaneously, they reflect the government's openness to adopting initiatives and practical experiences from the private sector. The close collaboration between fintech companies, government agencies, and academia will help Vietnam gradually improve its position in the field of artificial intelligence and digital technology on the global map.
