After 30 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations (July 12, 1993), the multifaceted cooperation relationship between Vietnam and Israel has continuously developed over time, achieving many important achievements, making Vietnam and Israel become each other's leading important partners in the Southeast Asia and Middle East regions.

On the evening of May 30, in Hanoi , the Embassy of Israel in Vietnam held a ceremony to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Independence Day of the State of Israel (1948 - 2023) and the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Israel (1993 - 2023).
Attending the ceremony were Deputy Foreign Minister Ha Kim Ngoc, Israeli Ambassador to Vietnam Yaron Mayer and representatives of leaders of several ministries, departments, branches and foreign representative agencies in Vietnam.
Speaking at the ceremony, reviewing the important milestones in the development of the State of Israel over the past 75 years, Israeli Ambassador to Vietnam Yaron Mayer said that 75 years ago, the Holocaust was the darkest period in Jewish history, Jews from different parts of the world, many different languages and traditions, gathered in their ancient homeland to establish the State of Israel. Since then, thanks to leaders with vision, the Israeli people have achieved many achievements in all fields of education and research, agriculture and irrigation, water management and climate change, science and technology, public health and medicine... Today, Israel is a world power in technological innovation, known as the Startup Nation.
Regarding the cooperation between Vietnam and Israel, Ambassador Yaron Mayer said that after 30 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations, the Vietnam-Israel relationship has developed strongly in many economic and technological fields. High-level visits, cultural exchanges, and people-to-people dialogues have further strengthened the Vietnam-Israel friendship, promoted mutual understanding, and provided opportunities for study and increased tourism for the people of the two countries.
According to Ambassador Yaron Mayer, the current trade balance between the two countries has exceeded 2 billion USD, the upcoming Vietnam - Israel Free Trade Agreement will facilitate trade exchange at a higher level, as well as in the investment sector.
Speaking at the ceremony, on behalf of the Government and people of Vietnam, Deputy Foreign Minister Ha Kim Ngoc emphasized that over the past 75 years, on the basis of a long-standing culture preserved with thousands of years of history, with solidarity, a spirit of constant creative efforts and advancement, the Israeli people have created miracles in the desert with many great achievements in the construction and development of the country, making Israel one of the centers of economics, science, technology and innovation in the region and the world.
Deputy Minister Ha Kim Ngoc said that for many Vietnamese people, Israel is a country with a unique culture, intelligent people, full of entrepreneurial spirit, not afraid of failure, a modern education system, encouraging innovation, criticism, always striving to find solutions to difficult and challenging problems.

Assessing the relationship between the two countries, Deputy Minister Ha Kim Ngoc said that since the establishment of diplomatic relations on July 12, 1993, the multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam and Israel has continuously developed over time, achieving many important achievements, making Vietnam and Israel become each other's leading important partners in the Southeast Asian and Middle East regions. Cooperation activities in the fields of economics, science and technology, high-tech agriculture, and people-to-people exchange have taken place vigorously, contributing positively to the consolidation and development of the friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
Vietnam and Israel have concluded negotiations and are preparing to sign VIFTA - Vietnam's first free trade agreement with the Middle East region, right on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations. This is an important milestone contributing to the completion of the legal framework, creating a breakthrough for economic, trade and investment cooperation between the two countries in the coming time.
Deputy Minister Ha Kim Ngoc said that Vietnam highly appreciates Israel's acceptance of Vietnamese agricultural interns in recent years. Upon returning home, these interns have promoted their entrepreneurial spirit, successfully absorbed and applied advanced technologies to agricultural projects in Vietnam and achieved encouraging initial successes, thereby not only making positive contributions to Vietnam's agricultural sector but also acting as a bridge for the friendship between the two nations.
Deputy Minister Ha Kim Ngoc expressed his belief that with the wishes and determination of the Governments and peoples of the two countries, the multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam and Israel will continue to develop further in all fields in the coming time./.
