Solemnly celebrate the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification

(BL-LA) On the morning of April 30, in Ho Chi Minh City, the Party Central Committee, the National Assembly, the President, the Government, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City solemnly held the Ceremony to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).

As a historical event of special importance, the ceremony was attended by senior leaders of the Party, State, National Assembly , Government, Vietnam Fatherland Front and delegates from home and abroad.

In a solemn atmosphere, General Secretary To Lam delivered an important speech, emphasizing the great significance of the victory on April 30, 1975, affirming the role of national unity and the aspiration to develop the country in the new period. “Promoting the spirit of the Great Victory of Spring 1975, promoting the values and achievements gained over 40 years of Doi Moi, our entire Party, people and army will strive to successfully complete the 5-year socio-economic development plan for 2021-2025, competing to achieve many achievements to welcome Party Congresses at all levels towards the 14th National Congress of the Party. With the mettle, intelligence and strength of Vietnam, we have achieved the Great Victory of Spring 1975, we will certainly continue to gain many more great achievements, create miracles in the new era, the era of wealth, civilization, prosperity, and national development, building our country to be more and more “decent, more beautiful”, standing shoulder to shoulder with the world powers as President Ho Chi Minh wished and the aspiration of the entire nation”, the General Secretary emphasized in the concluding part of his speech.

Representatives of veterans participating in the Ho Chi Minh Campaign and representatives of the young generation also gave speeches at the ceremony.

After the ceremony, the parade program began with a performance by a helicopter squadron carrying the Party flag, the national flag, and a fighter jet squadron of the Vietnam People's Army in the sky of central Ho Chi Minh City.

Participating in the parade program were 38 groups of armed forces (25 groups of Army and militia; 13 groups of Police) and 12 parade groups representing mass organizations... In addition, the parade groups of the Chinese, Lao, and Cambodian armies also participated in the program.

Watching the Anniversary Ceremony broadcast live on television, Bac Lieu people shared the pride with people across the country. It was noted that in Bac Lieu City, many restaurants, cafes and most households opened live programs for the Anniversary Ceremony broadcast live on national television and social networking platforms. Many people could not hide their emotions when watching the historical reenactment and the parades passing through the stage.

On the first day of the holiday in Bac Lieu, the streets were quite deserted and security and order were ensured.
