Over the past few days, thousands of people have visited Ba Vang Pagoda to venerate the Buddha's hair relics. Many were moved to tears, and many prayed and made supplications. However, there were also many who objected, arguing that the claim that the hair relics moved lacked scientific basis and was unconvincing.
The reason so many people flock to venerate the Buddha's hair relic is partly due to the information provided by Ba Vang Pagoda, stating that "After more than 2,600 years, the strand of hair remains intact. Tens of thousands of people and Buddhists have witnessed the hair continuously spinning in various shapes, even though there was nothing around to pull or control it, completely different from the hair of an ordinary person."
Religious beliefs and faith are always respected, but religious beliefs are different from distortions that lead to delusion. Therefore, the Government's Religious Affairs Committee requests the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha to direct the International Buddhist Affairs Committee and the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Quang Ninh province to rectify activities that are inconsistent with Buddhist traditions and to strictly handle violations according to Buddhist precepts, the Charter, and the Regulations of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha if any organizations or individuals involved in the incident are found to have committed offenses.
However, at the time the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Association of Quang Ninh province was working on the case, according to reports, Venerable Thich Truc Thai Minh - the abbot of Ba Vang Pagoda - had left the country, possibly to Laos. Furthermore, the relics of the Buddha's hair are not currently at Ba Vang Pagoda.
Venerable Thich Dao Hien - Member of the Executive Council, Head and Chief Secretary of the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Association in Quang Ninh province, informed: "Representatives of the temple told us that the relics have been escorted onto the plane to be returned to their homeland."
Could the return of the relic believed to be the Buddha's hair to his homeland be the cause of this?
Verifying who brought the Buddha's hair relic back to Vietnam, which flight it was on, the time and date, and from which temple in Myanmar it was taken is quite easy.
Excuse me, if it is a genuine relic of the Buddha's hair, then it is a "national treasure" of Myanmar. Bringing it out of the country is no simple matter. So, what is the procedure between the Ba Vang Pagoda and the Parami Pagoda – the Parami International Buddhist Relic Museum (Myanmar)?
Who were the people escorting the relic believed to be a hair relic of the Buddha onto the plane back to their homeland? Which flight did they take, and what procedures did the Myanmar authorities follow?
Please note that if it is a genuine relic of the Buddha's hair, then the welcoming ceremony for its "return to the homeland" must be a grand and sacred event. This is also easy to verify.
