In the 2025-2026 school year, Pac Nam Secondary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities has 274 students, belonging to 5 ethnic groups: Tay, Nung, Dao, Mong and San Chi.
Since the 2018-2019 school year, the school has established an Ethnic Culture Club with the desire to create a meaningful playground where students can both practice their talents and preserve traditional cultural values.
Teacher Ca Thi Hoan, Vice Principal of Pac Nam Ethnic Boarding Secondary School, shared: I am always troubled when I see that many students do not fully understand the meaning and beauty of their ethnic culture. From the desire to preserve and spread that identity, my colleagues and I established the Ethnic Culture Club so that students have a space to learn to dance, sing, and play the flute. I believe that when students understand, love, and are proud of traditional beauty, those values will spread naturally, becoming a part of the journey of maturity of each highland student.
Up to now, the club has more than 50 members regularly participating in activities, maintaining traditional art forms such as Then singing, Tinh lute, bowl dance, Mong panpipe dance, wooden mask dance and folk songs of the Tay, Nung, Dao, San Chi ethnic groups. Every afternoon, the school yard is bustling with music and laughter. The students prepare their own props, practice each dance move, each beat of the instrument under the enthusiastic guidance of teachers.

Thanks to regularly participating in the club's activities, many students have changed significantly. From being shy and timid, they have now become more confident, boldly expressing themselves in front of crowds, and actively participating in cultural and artistic activities.
Not only students, more and more teachers in the school also join the club. Teachers not only guide techniques, but also perform with students in festivals, creating a close and cohesive atmosphere.
To improve the quality of activities, Pac Nam Boarding Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities has invited artists to instruct students in various forms such as panpipe dancing, bowl dancing, then singing, and playing the Tinh lute. The lessons are held periodically at the school, helping students to have direct contact with people who understand folk culture, learn from how to hold and blow the panpipe to understand the meaning of each melody.
Ms. Ca Thi Hoan, Vice Principal of Pac Nam Boarding Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities, added: The school will focus on maintaining and promoting the activities of the Ethnic Culture Club in a sustainable and creative way. In addition to maintaining traditional forms such as then singing, Tinh lute, Mong panpipe dance, bowl dance... we will expand the topics to learn about the customs, costumes, and musical instruments of each ethnic group so that students can learn and experience more deeply, continue to invite artisans to teach periodically to spread cultural values to many generations of students.
