Spread and promote the beauty of Vietnamese Ao Dai to international friends

The event was organized by the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Conservation Support Fund, the Vietnam Ao Dai Heritage Club in collaboration with Vietnamese embassies in European countries. In particular, the launching ceremony of the Vietnam Ao Dai Heritage Club in Europe was solemnly held on September 26 at the Körősi Csoma Sándor Theater, Budapest, Hungary, attracting nearly 500 members of the Vietnam Ao Dai Heritage Club from 10 European countries and ao dai lovers, including many Hungarians.

Before the ceremony began, all attendees observed a minute of silence to remember the victims affected by Typhoon Yagi , sharing the loss with their fellow countrymen back home.

The opening ceremony was a parade of female members of the Vietnam Ao Dai Heritage Club in Europe from more than 10 countries: Belgium, Croatia, Germany, Italy, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Hungary...

Speaking at the ceremony, former Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Dang Thi Bich Lien emphasized the historical significance and cultural value of Ao Dai, a costume that has been associated with the Vietnamese people and women for generations. She appreciated the love for her homeland and Ao Dai of Vietnamese women abroad and believed that the establishment of the Vietnamese Ao Dai Heritage Club in Europe would further contribute to spreading and promoting the beauty of Ao Dai heritage to international friends.

In her congratulatory message at the ceremony, Ambassador Nguyen Thi Bich Thao expressed her joy at the establishment of the Vietnam Ao Dai Heritage Club in Europe and the beautiful capital of Budapest as the venue for the Club's launching ceremony. The Ambassador assessed the establishment of the Vietnam Ao Dai Heritage Club in Europe as an extremely meaningful event, towards the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Hungary and many other European countries in 2025.

The Ambassador hopes that the Vietnamese Ao Dai Heritage Club in Europe will have more positive activities to promote Vietnamese culture in general and Ao Dai in particular in the coming time and commits that the Vietnamese Embassy in Hungary will always accompany the activities of the Club.

Ms. Kese Beatrix - Deputy Director of the Foreign Affairs Department of the Hungarian Parliament expressed her love for Vietnam, especially when she felt very close to her heart when wearing the Vietnamese Ao Dai to attend the ceremony. She shared that she learned a lot about the history and development of the Ao Dai - the national costume of Vietnam. On the Hungarian Parliament's side, she affirmed that she will fully support the activities to promote and spread the image of Ao Dai and Vietnamese culture to the Hungarian people, as well as international friends.

The launching ceremony was even more impressive with many unique performances such as conical hat dance, fan dance, calligraphy dance combined with Ao Dai costumes, performed by nearly 100 members of the Vietnamese Ao Dai Heritage Club from European countries, including many generations, receiving much admiration and enthusiastic cheers from the attendees. This is also a testament to the strong spread of the love and pride of the overseas Vietnamese community for Ao Dai.

At the ceremony, the European Vietnamese Ao Dai Heritage Club was introduced to the Executive Board with 25 members, chaired by Dr. Phan Bich Thien. On behalf of the Club, Dr. Phan Bich Thien expressed his joy at the establishment of the European Vietnamese Ao Dai Heritage Club. This is a new milestone in encouraging Vietnamese women in Europe to join hands in promoting and spreading the beauty and cultural value of the Vietnamese Ao Dai. In the recent past, many member clubs have been established in many countries such as France, Belgium, Sweden, etc. and will continue to be launched in many other European countries.

Ms. Dang Lan Huong - Vice President of the Vietnamese Ao Dai Heritage Club in Europe, President of the Vietnamese Ao Dai Heritage Club in Slovakia said that women in Slovakia always have a special affection for Ao Dai. Women always actively participate in events promoting Vietnamese culture in Slovakia and the launching ceremony of the Vietnamese Ao Dai Heritage Club in Slovakia will take place on the occasion of Vietnamese Women's Day, October 20.

Within the framework of the ceremony, the Vietnamese Ao Dai Heritage Club in Hungary was also launched. The club's sisters in Hungary presented the audience with an extremely impressive performance of Ao Dai and Vietnamese traditional costumes, concluding the ceremony.

In the afternoon of the same day, the sisters from the Vietnamese Ao Dai Heritage Club from European countries had an extremely impressive parade with colorful and rich Ao Dai at Kossuth Lajos Square in front of the Hungarian Parliament building, singing Vietnamese songs, leaving many beautiful images in the eyes of the Hungarian people and international friends./.
