Provincial leaders offer incense to commemorate the 120th birthday of comrade Luong Khanh Thien

On the morning of October 11, leaders of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Provincial Fatherland Front Committee attended the incense offering ceremony to commemorate the 120th birthday of Comrade Luong Khanh Thien (1903-2023).

Incense offering ceremony to commemorate the 120th anniversary of the birth of comrade Luong Khanh Thien 19032023 — The delegation, on behalf of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Fatherland Front Committee of Ha Nam province, solemnly and respectfully offered incense and flowers to commemorate the heroic spirit of President Ho Chi Minh and the souls of heroic martyrs at the Provincial Heroic Martyrs Temple.

Before offering incense to commemorate the 120th anniversary of the birth of Comrade Luong Khanh Thien, the delegation representing the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ha Nam province and Phu Ly city respectfully offered incense and flowers to commemorate the great contributions of President Ho Chi Minh - the genius leader of the nation and the noble sacrifice of the heroic martyrs who bravely fought and sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland, for the happiness of the people, for the longevity of the nation at the Provincial Heroic Martyrs Temple, the Temple of 10 Lam Ha girls.

At the Memorial House of Comrade Luong Khanh Thien in Lam Ha Ward, Phu Ly City, Comrade Le Thi Thuy, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council, read a speech expressing the deep gratitude of the Party Committee, government, armed forces and people of Ha Nam province to Comrade Luong Khanh Thien - a loyal communist soldier, a typical senior leader of the Party and the Vietnamese revolution, an outstanding son of Ha Nam homeland.

The speech stated: Comrade Luong Khanh Thien was born on October 13, 1903, in a poor Confucian family in Me Thuong village, Me Trang commune, Me Trang canton, Thanh Liem district (now Me Thuong residential group, Liem Chinh ward, Phu Ly city, Ha Nam province). In 1923, he left his hometown for Hai Phong city, applying to study at Hai Phong Practical Technology School. Here, he actively participated in patriotic student movements. The most notable activity was at the end of 1925, when comrade Luong Khanh Thien, along with comrades Hoang Quoc Viet and Luu Ba Ky, led a group of students from the Practical Technology School to block Governor General Va-ren's car from Do Son to Cau Rao, submitting a petition demanding that the French colonial government release the patriot Phan Boi Chau, causing a great stir in public opinion.

In 1926, Comrade Luong Khanh Thien returned to Nam Dinh to work as a mechanic at the Fiber Factory. In 1927, he was admitted to the Vietnam Revolutionary Youth Association of Nam Dinh Province. In 1928, Comrade Luong Khanh Thien returned to Hai Phong, implementing "proletarianization" in the workers' movement at the Chai Factory. In April 1929, he was admitted to the Party, becoming one of the first four Party members of the first Communist Party Cell of Hai Phong City, directly in charge of the workers' movement at the Chai Factory.

In March 1937, at the Conference to establish the Provisional Northern Regional Party Committee, comrade Luong Khanh Thien was appointed as the Provisional Secretary of the Provisional Northern Regional Party Committee and Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee. In September 1939, he was assigned to direct the construction of the Party's secret base in Phu Tho province. He organized the construction of revolutionary bases in a large area, in the districts of Cam Khe, Lam Thao, Phu Ninh, Thanh Ba, Yen Lap under the direct leadership of the Regional Party Committee; established three of the first four Party cells and the Provisional Executive Committee of Phu Tho province.

In October 1940, he was assigned to be the Secretary of Inter-province B and directly in charge of the Hai Phong City Party Committee. Taking on the new task, at a time when the revolutionary movement in Hai Phong and Inter-province B was facing many difficulties due to the enemy's increased terror, arrest of cadres, and many bases being broken, he was still clever and flexible in the role of a herbalist, lime seller, electrician... to outwit the enemy. He directed the construction of the Hai Duong area as a solid base for the inter-province, and at the same time, closely followed the Hai Phong City Party Committee to direct the movement. Under his direction, the revolutionary movement in Hai Phong and Inter-province B had positive changes, the revolutionary bases were consolidated and expanded. On September 1, 1941, comrade Luong Khanh Thien was executed in Kien An. Until the last minute of his life, he remained loyal and steadfast to the Party and the nation, and had absolute faith in the inevitable victory of the revolution.

Comrade Luong Khanh Thien's life of activities and contributions to the Vietnamese revolution during the period of the Party's founding movement, during the revolutionary movements from 1930 to 1941, clearly demonstrated the pioneering role of a talented, creative, and prestigious leader of the Party and the Vietnamese revolution. In any position, he always excellently fulfilled his tasks before the Party and the People. Promoting the patriotic tradition of his homeland, following in the footsteps of Comrade Luong Khanh Thien, tens of thousands of people from Ha Nam heroicly fought and sacrificed to protect the independence and freedom of the Fatherland, for the happiness of the People.

Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Le Thi Thuy emphasized: Following the example and remembering the merits of Comrade Luong Khanh Thien, in recent years, the Party Committee, government and people of Ha Nam have focused on leading and directing the effective implementation of Party building work in all fields; mobilizing all resources to promote socio-economic development, building Ha Nam province to become increasingly rich, beautiful and civilized, striving to soon become a well-off province in the Northern Delta region. In the past half term, 7/18 main targets set by the Resolution of the 20th Provincial Party Congress have been achieved and exceeded; the average economic growth rate reached 10%/year. The economic structure has shifted in the right direction. The state budget revenue in the area reached nearly 14 trillion VND, ensuring budget autonomy from 2022... New rural construction has been promoted. Ha Nam is the 4th province in the country to be recognized for completing the task of building new rural areas in 2020. Up to now, the whole province has over 30% of communes recognized as meeting advanced new rural standards and model new rural standards. Culture and society have many exciting activities, social security is guaranteed; people's lives are improved. In 2022, the average income per capita will reach 87 million VND/person. Local defense and military are strengthened; Political security, social order and safety are maintained...

Respectfully remembering, expressing gratitude and honoring the indomitable fighting spirit, heroic sacrifice and great contributions of comrade Luong Khanh Thien to the Vietnamese revolutionary cause, the Party Committee, government, army and people of Ha Nam province pledge to unite, join hands and wholeheartedly inherit and promote the glorious revolutionary cause of comrade Luong Khanh Thien and other exemplary predecessors of the Party. Continue to promote the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle, strive to improve the leadership capacity and fighting strength of the Party organization and Party members; promote the people's mastery, firmly consolidate the great national unity bloc; enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the government's operations; promote administrative reform, prevent corruption, waste and negativity; focus on building socio-economic infrastructure; develop production, expand linkages; proactively and actively integrate into the international community; comprehensively develop culture and society, improve the quality of human resources; ensure the environment and social security; improve and enhance people's lives; maintain national defense and security; strive to successfully implement the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, the Resolution of the 20th Provincial Party Congress, and build Ha Nam to become increasingly prosperous and civilized.

At the incense offering ceremony, the representative of comrade Luong Khanh Thien's relatives also expressed their gratitude to the Party Committee, government, armed forces and people of Ha Nam for always paying deep attention and remembering the contributions of comrade Luong Khanh Thien. The younger generation in the family promised to continue promoting the tradition of trying to study and work hard to contribute to building a strong and prosperous homeland and country.
