Set up 3 inspection teams to support disease prevention and control after floods

The Ministry of Health decided to set up three inspection teams to monitor and direct disease prevention and control work after storms No. 10 and 11 and floods in six provinces and cities: Thai Nguyen, Cao Bang, Lang Son, Thanh Hoa, Hue and Quang Tri.

Team No. 1 will inspect and monitor the two provinces of Thai Nguyen and Cao Bang , headed by the leader of the Department of Disease Prevention. Team No. 2 will inspect and monitor the two provinces of Lang Son and Thanh Hoa, headed by the leader of the Central Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology. Team No. 3 will inspect and monitor the two provinces and cities of Hue and Quang Tri, headed by the leader of the Pasteur Institute Nha Trang.

The inspection teams will work with the Department of Health, Center for Disease Control, some provincial and municipal hospitals, medical centers, commune-level People's Committees, medical stations in some communes and wards and related units on disease prevention and control, water treatment, environmental sanitation after storms No. 10 and 11 and floods; inspect and supervise the actual work of disease prevention and control, water treatment, environmental sanitation after storms and floods in the community.

According to the Ministry of Health, storms No. 10 and 11 have seriously affected a number of provinces in the Central, North Central, and North regions, causing heavy rains, floods, flash floods, etc., leading to the risk of outbreaks of diseases such as dengue fever, measles, pink eye, foot rot, and diarrhea. To prevent epidemics after storms and floods, the Ministry of Health recommends that localities direct the health sector to focus on monitoring, early detection, and thorough treatment of cases of infectious diseases, preventing outbreaks after storms and floods; prepare disinfectants and sterilization chemicals, closely coordinate with socio-political organizations and people to organize environmental sanitation, disinfection, treatment of domestic water, waste collection, and ensure clean water for people...
