The welcoming ceremony for Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's state visit to India took place on the morning of August 1st, local time, at the Presidential Palace in New Delhi. The ceremony was presided over by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The cavalry unit greeted and escorted Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's motorcade from the main gate to the reception area. The Vietnamese head of government was one of the first foreign leaders to visit after Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi was re-elected for a third term, demonstrating India's appreciation for the bilateral relationship. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's visit to India is of great significance to both countries. First and foremost, the visit demonstrates the importance that the leaders of our Party and State attach to relations with India – a traditional friendly country and a Comprehensive Strategic Partner of Vietnam, a nation that is rapidly rising in the region and the world . The commander of the Indian Army Honor Guard invited Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to review the Honor Guard. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi introduced the leaders of the Indian delegation to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted the ministers in the high-level Vietnamese delegation. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's visit to India is expected to create new momentum to strengthen the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries, established in 2016. Economically , bilateral trade has increased 2.5 times since the two countries upgraded to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (in 2016), reaching nearly US$15 billion in 2023. The two countries have significant potential for trade and investment cooperation, leveraging their strengths such as having the world's most populous market and dynamically developing economies. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi bids farewell to Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh after the welcoming ceremony. The two leaders will hold a private meeting and talks at the Indian Prime Minister's Office. During this visit, the two countries plan to promote and strengthen cooperation in new and promising areas such as renewable energy, semiconductor chips, innovation, green economy, digital transformation and information technology, smart agriculture , and pharmaceuticals… The car carrying Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh left the Indian Presidential Palace after the welcoming ceremony. Later that day, after talks with his counterpart Narendra Modi, the Vietnamese government leader will meet with senior Indian leaders and participate in several activities in New Delhi before concluding his visit to India and returning to Vietnam on the evening of August 1st.
