Lotus Village Festival 2025 to be held nationwide

The Sen Village Festival is an important political and cultural activity, expressing the people's gratitude and respect for President Ho Chi Minh.

On the afternoon of April 9, the People's Committee of Nghe An province and the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Nghe An held a press conference on the 2025 Sen Village Festival and inaugurated the "Uncle Ho visits his hometown" monument, celebrating the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025).

Since 1981, a mass art movement about Uncle Ho, the Fatherland, and the Party was born under the name of the Sen Village Singing Festival.

In 2002, the Sen Village Singing Festival was upgraded by Nghe An province to the Sen Village Festival on a provincial scale (held annually) and a national scale (held every 5 years) on the occasion of Uncle Ho's birthday.

Since its first years of organization, the Sen Village Festival has attracted many classes of people not only in the province but also people from all over the country, overseas Vietnamese, and international tourists to respond and participate.

This is an important political and cultural activity, expressing the people's gratitude and respect for President Ho Chi Minh - National Liberation Hero, outstanding cultural figure; propagating and educating Ho Chi Minh's ideology.

Continue to carry out the campaign "Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle"; introduce and promote the culture of Sen Village, Nghe An homeland to friends and tourists at home and abroad.

Ms. Tran Thi My Hanh said: "This year, the Lotus Village Festival is organized on a national scale, with 6 activities chaired and coordinated by units of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism."

The highlight is the art program to open this year's Sen Village Festival with the theme "Monument in millions of hearts" and the first 15-minute low-altitude fireworks display in Uncle Ho's hometown. The theme is associated with the inauguration event of the monument "Uncle Ho visits his hometown".

The 2025 Lotus Village Festival is scheduled to take place from May 9 to May 19.

Along with the ceremony activities are cultural, sports and tourism programs such as: inauguration of the 9-storey waterfall at the tomb of Mrs. Hoang Thi Loan, the Lotus Village Singing Festival, and photo exhibition of ASEAN countries and people.

Film week about Uncle Ho and exchange with cinema artists and film crews about Uncle Ho in Nghe An; 29th National Wrestling Championship in 2025; Marathon "Journey in Uncle Ho's footsteps - For the security of the Fatherland"...

Statue of Uncle Ho visiting his hometown made of bronze

On the occasion of the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday, the Ministry of Public Security will coordinate with Nghe An province to inaugurate the "Uncle Ho visits his hometown" monument from socialized funding sources.

The statue is located at Lang Sen Stadium, Kim Lien Relic Site, Nam Dan District, Nghe An Province. The statue is made of new technology hydraulically pressed bronze, inspired by the image of Uncle Ho visiting his hometown.

After several decades of leaving his homeland to find a way to save the country and gain independence for the nation, Uncle Ho only visited his hometown Nghe An twice, on June 16, 1957 and December 8, 1961.

His visits to his hometown always left a beautiful image of a great personality but extremely simple and close.
