Leading through 36 holes at Emirates Golf Club, Le Khanh Hung entered the third round of the 2025 Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship with ease, making two birdies in the first three holes. Despite making a bogey on the fourth hole, the 17- year -old golfer was able to regain his composure with a birdie on the eighth hole.
However, the real challenges came in the next 9 holes when Khanh Hung made unfortunate bogeys and double bogeys. The 32nd SEA Games gold medalist closed the round with a birdie at hole 18, completing the day with 73 strokes, thereby temporarily dropping to T4 position on the rankings with a total score of (-10).
The top spot now belongs to Taisei Nagasaki (Japan) with rounds of 67-67-65, total score -17. Although the opportunity to compete for the championship has become more difficult, Khanh Hung still receives absolute support from home fans before the final round.
In another development, the remaining Vietnamese representative, Nguyen Duc Son, continued to improve his score with a 72-stroke result (even par) in round 3, thereby gradually moving up the rankings.
Co-hosted by The Masters Tournament, The R&A and the Asia-Pacific Golf Confederation (APGC), the AAC is the region’s most prestigious amateur golf tournament. The winner will receive an invitation to the world’s two most prestigious majors – The Masters and The Open Championship.
